I love to upload: budget hauls from places such as the wonderful Primark, walks around local idyllic towns, health journey chat, and even the odd retro throwback such as 'What's in my bag'. Basically, a large variety of things that first attracted me (and many an hour of my time!) to RU-vid.

Some of most pretty and old houses at Surrey is in Shackleford. My ex-husband was a pupil at Aldro 1975-1979 before he went up to Charterhouse. A famous resident of Shackleford who rarely get a mention is a man name Billy Dainty and was a music hall star of the 1940's. Johnny remembers that he used to visit the school during drama class to give tip on acting and was a great comedian.

Hi Sarah: I grew up in Haslemere and loved it - as a child, it was a wonderful place in which to live, with plenty to do. To begin with, I went to school in Haslemere itself, before attending schools in nearby Hindhead and Godalming. The countryside is close by and easily accessed, with part of the Surrey Hills AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) named Blackdown being very close. Blackdown was originally owned by the Poet Laureate Alfred, Lord Tennyson and he bequeathed the land to the nation upon his death. Take the Petworth Road about half a mile out of town, make a right on Haste Hill and at Five Ways Corner, proceed about a mile and a half up the eponymously-named Tennyson's Road to reach Aldworth House. Aldworth - where Tennyson lived for twenty to thirty years - is open to the public, by prior arrangement. A grove of trees on Blackdown called: The Temple of the Winds was Tennyson's favourite spot and affords a wonderful view south towards the far-distant English Channel that is memorialised in one of Tennyson's poems: "Prologue to General Hamley", which prologue Tennyson wrote when he sent General Hamley the original draft of: "The Charge of the Heavy Brigade at Balaclava". The referred Prologue contained the following four-line stanza about the view from the Temple of the Winds on Blackdown Common: - You came, and look'd and loved the view Long known and loved by me, Green Sussex fading into blue With one gray glimpse of sea; Arthur Conan Doyle lived in the area (Hindhead, to be precise) for more than twenty years, during which time he wrote most of the Sherlock Homes' stories. One of Conan Doyle's neighbours was the Irish author and playwright, George Bernard Shaw, whose former house "Blencathra" was subsequently converted into St Edmund's School in 1900. On 21 April 1732, long-time Haslemere MP, Lt General James Oglethorpe, founded the Colony of Georgia in the new world, with the gracious permission of HM King George II. This colony eventually became the US State of Georgia. Accompanied by Oglethorpe, the first 115 settlers destined for Georgia sailed from Gravesend in the ship "Ann", on 17 November 1732, landing at Charleston, South Carolina on 13 January 1733. Indeed, Oglethorpe is why the hotel at the opposite end of the Haslemere High Street is named: "The Georgian Hotel". In 1895, another Haslemere resident, Sir Robert Hunter, became one of the three co-founders of the National Trust. The whole Haslemere area is beautiful, peaceful and safe and redolent with history.

@@sarahsselection Hi Sarah - thank you for your kind reply. We moved to Haslemere many decades ago when I was very young - not even school age, to be honest. For his job, my father needed to live within an hour's drive of London Heath Row Airport and after drawing a circle on a map, Haslemere was the first town my parent's visited (they were living in London close to Heath Row at the time and wanted to live in the countryside). My parents instantly loved Haslemere and decided they did not need to look anywhere else. So, they bought an acre of land up on Haste Hill, whereon they had a house built, into which we moved en famille after a couple of years in a rented house on Longdene Road. We lived there for some 15 years, after which Dad was hired to fill an administrative position in Africa, to which we moved and where we lived for a few years before returning to the UK. When we returned to Blighty, we had already sold the house in Haslemere and so moved so that my mother could live close to her own then-widowed mother (ie my grandmother), elsewhere in the UK. After university, I spent some years in the United States before moving to Hong Kong, where I have lived since with my own family, for several decades now. In my profession, I have been fortunate enough to have travelled the world entire (with the sole and strange exception of South America!). In all my journeys, I have seen few if any places anywhere as beautiful as Haslemere and the surrounding area. I have been back many times to Haslemere to visit and show my own children where I had the very great good fortune to grow up. If you grew up in the area, did you do so in Haslemere itself? Or in one of the neighbouring towns or villages? And if you are moving back to Haslemere soon then that would necessarily mean that you too have lived elsewhere for a few years?
@@xetalq What an interesting life story- so intriguing that I need to go back & reread later to take it all in! I have never lived anywhere longterm other than Surrey & Sussex but all over, first from general house moves & now, as a house-sitter (the cheapest way to live in lovely homes in a variety of locations!). I'm from just outside Godalming originally, & now sit just outside London, Kingston, Cobham, Camberley & Sussex for a few clients (with cats mainly!). I've also lived (v short term so more stays really) for work in NYC & Wales over the years. I would love to travel more, but only 21 countries so far. Like you, I haven't yet visited South America, but hoping to in the future (& Japan next year, hopefully!). 😊
Great video as always ... BUT you're having a heat wave and you're wearing a sweater!! Get your summer clothes on Sarah 😂😂 and stop going on about your hair...it is grand. If you really hate the colour add a toner or Ash blonde colour, your kitchen light is making the colour more warm based.... Ps glad I'm not the only butter fingers 😅 xxx

Lime pepsi max .... 1 sip at a time well done if you manage this i abolutely couldnt set myself up for such a fall . I see lisa and i are to blame or your sneaky treats lol. I was in home bargains and bought 2 starbars which i forgot about still in the bag so about to go in search asap. I will need them to get through this weekend sane. Also got a few can of diet coke lemon .... not as good as a fanta lemon but very pleasant just hits that little bit different. Right i am away to locate my starbars px

@@sarahsselection i will definately not be sharing with the mother in law. i called in with her earlier and got the biggest cold shoulder treatment ever lets just say she wanted to know why i hadnt given ih invisible husband a birthday card or present ??? I mean really needless to say i had to really bite my tongue and just said i got him exactly the same as he got me ..... nothing to which she replied he threw you a big 40th birthday party . That was over 10 years ago lol px

Oh my sexy sarah vibes today .... love it u go girl embrass your femininity !!! My hair is stuck in a pony and has been for the last few days. Girls having a surprise 50th birthday party for ih invisible husband tommmorrow night so i am going to have to find a way of making a effort on the clothes and hair front wish me luck lol. Also brother in law has arrived home from london about 2 hours ago untill tuesday ... so looks like a family loaded weekend.... less said the better . Overwhelmed just thinking about it px

Sarah i was told by my consultant not to take iburfen because it is very hard on my already sensitive stomach and reflux . He advised me to only take paracetamol??? Take from this what you will but i just thought I'd give u a heads up incase it would benefit you to avoid it too px

Hi sarah how is your week thus far yes u have had a rant before on the channel re cyclists lol here on my country roads my pet hate is people on horses 3 abreast you slow down and keep your distance and they dont even aknowledge u with the customary nod or wave of thanks. I think i keep everything but the kitchen sink in my bag and defiately a emergency pepsi max lol surprise surprise px

It looks lovely 😍 I hate the heat I've gotta say, I prefer autumn and winter weather 😅 I do believe people should go ahead and use their perfumes, their "nicer make up", their best things . . .because life is too short! But now I'm going to use that phrase "if not now? When?" 😅😂 I used to do bronzer but actually I think it ages pale skin, because bronzed = sun damage. I now use blush or nothing at all and look so much younger for it 😊 The green eyeshadow applicator is called a 'doe foot applicator' 😊 You've reminded me that I need to book my MOT and check when my car tax renews haha 😂

@@AmberRoo I know, it is fun to stay in different places. A perk I guess of not being able to afford my own home & making the best of it! 😂 In all seriousness though, there are many websites (ie house sittersuk etc) that you pay a membership fee & then Bob's your uncle, you can stay for free in Bath, Brighton, London, Europe, Canada or Australia etc. Xx
Hi Sarah, to help with the acid reflux (I have it too) would be to give up all fizzy drinks - they are one of the worst things for causing reflux. And also, try to eat your last meal of the day 4 hours before going to bed (so you're not laying down on a full stomach). Hope this helps ❤

Hi Sarah, Lovely to see you.When are you in hospital? Im on the same meds for my acid reflux.Had to start taking them when I had a problem with my pancreas. I am a MH advocate. Make sure you dont come off your ant depressants cold turkey.Your intelligent. Im telling you something you know already. I had a hysterectomy when I was 26.Been period free since then.Yay .❤

I would've loved mine done at 26, but they kept saying I might want kids (I've always known that motherhood wasn't for me but there you go!). I agree about not going cold turkey with meds, but hoping to rely more on meditation & exercise in the future🤞Xx
@sarahsselection Good morning Sarah.I had cancer so it was an emergency hysterectomy. Thankfully I had a family by then.But I had a difficult pregnancy on each of my daughters and was in hospital for 5 months on my last pregnancy. Nothing wrong in alternative ways to help stress and mental health illness.Remember though that if you do need to go back on meds don't feel a failure. And do everything under the doctors supervision .💕

@sarahsselection Hi my lovely I am a retired teacher .But I have studied in psychology/well being and mental health.When I worked on a radio station I did a series of talks with individuals that have tried to end their life and also ones who have lost loved ones .One of the individuals I spoke to used to be a reporter for Sky/BBC1 Sadly his son ended his life over two years ago.He set up a charity org called Baton of Hope.I started helping but then cancer hit me again.I hope all goes well with your op.Do you know if you are having keyhole surgery? Back to business my mum has one of the fish glug jugs and myself and 2 sisters all have fun childhood memories of fishy as we called it it is the one item i guarantee that we will fight over when the time comes. Omg didnt know u would love a mini i am wanting to downside my tiguan as the girls have each their own cars and i really would love a mini .... thats if the girls allow me to indulge in what they call my mid life crisis lol. I have 2 of the whitard mugs too and i just adore the Mediterranean colours. I swear we are sisters separated at birth the similarities are spooky . Well done to your friend respect indeed px

Hi Sarah, you are looking great. Love that shade of lipstick on you. Your hair is looking lovely too. I don't know if you are aware, but the fish jug is called a glug jug. When you fill them with water and tip them out, they glug! My parents had a brown one. There is a little bit of value in them now. I love minis! A cream one! Elvis is so gorgeous, I love ginger cats. The striped mugs are so cute! I like hearts too! I have a black top with tiny pink hearts on, I love it! 😺🩷

Hi gorgeous have you tried goat's cheese. Omg it's vile. When I tried it I could literally see a goat 🐐 sitting in front of me bleeting lol it tastes like a farm smells 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
