We are a family of four living in the lovely Finger Lakes region of New York. The Farm's full name, DeKnightro Shuttney, is actually a combination of the four last names of the members of our family: DeMetro, Knight, Shutt and Warney. We want to share with you the follies of Carter Road: farming, composting, raising pets (and kids!), tractors, outdoor projects, falling (and harvesting!) trees, up/recycling and more. With minimal subliminal messaging.
How easy/difficult/expensive is it to find parts for international tractors. I'm considering buying a 454 as we speak. Any issues or weaknesses to them?
So after you take the seeds off of the pod what do you do with them next? Also i was wanting to see if you had any left , i would love to have some seeds so i can start growing them..
I have the same tractor the sounds that makes are unmistakable haha wish I had the front loader mine doesn't have it but I do have a rototiller and it's amazing
@@theyoungtech2038 thanks anyway but I'm all the way over here in Florida and I'm kind of in the market for a track steer. I need something a little more heavy-duty. I just love the way that 4-speed PTO makes implements hum like jet engines🤣 I can lay down a food plot without even mowing first or anyting and it comes out like ft deep talcum powder
@@theyoungtech2038 had to do some work on the tractor recently it blew the PTO seal unbeknownst to me while I was working and as a consequence blew the hydraulic pump
@@theyoungtech2038 yeah I've got Forty Acres in need to do some pretty heavy work already have a mini excavator and it's amazing but I need something to move faster and further
This tractor doesn’t have slide shifter they were on the earlier IH 74 series tractors. These shifters also can be tricky if they you aren’t used to them.
My bad thought this was a 484. And yes slide shifter’s were very tricky. On a side note this series IH was the fastest tractor I can remember had a high high gear.
DoubleKMustangs I grew up on one in the early 1990s lots of memories with my papaw...and for there size they will pull a whale through an elephants ass
I have a 484 that’s in great shape had it for 37 years now. It’s a great tractor very tough. They will pull more for their size than any other brand . So yes I’d recommend IH
OK, that's a tote they are putting up top which probably hold 275 gallons of water. At 8 pounds-per gallon, that's 2,200 pounds of weight on top of what looks like a deer stand. That's more than one-ton up on those legs! Not sure this was a safe idea
Obviousness from your comment meant that you didn't watch the whole video. When his wife climbs the tower and shows the video from inside the tower, you see the true structural integrity of that tower. Double 3/4 legs to start. 3/4 rebar cross bracing across both levels. There was also 3/4 rebar braces horizontal to help strengthen the full integrity of the tower. Thanks for the video, it gave me some ideas to use for myself. I'm working out the weights and build for a quad tote tower for our place. The vertical and horizontal cross bracing is something I am now going to look at hard!
last names that are also "colors"..white..brown..greene.gray.silver..black...people named by "months".....April...may...june... names i wouldn't use for my kid...Dick..peter..harry..CAThy..rod...johnson ..bob.
I love your boxer dog. I have been watching RU-vid videos trying to find out if you take the centres of the seeds out to plant or just leave them in their hard casings. My friend and I did a big seed swap and she let me take humongous sunflower heads she grew and I want to grow them next year. So far it looks like everybody is just collecting the hard shells to plant in the ground and that's enough? Do you know if I have to break the shells and plant the insides? Anyway, I came here to watch your video and got all excited by your boxer dog Levi. I have had five boxer dogs in my life. Two were in the house when I was born. One or those two was six when I was born and lived until I was 11. The other one died when I was eight. Then I had one from 13 to 24 from a breeder. Then I got one from boxer rescue when I was 25 and had until 32. Then we got our last boy and our heart dog Hoover in 2010 and just lost him at the end of July. I still miss him deeply. I don't know why I am telling you all this but Levi wanting to know what was going on and showing he was part of the team made me so happy. Okay, I am hoping to hear back about advice for sunflowers or boxer talk. I love the end of this video with "all day?!"
