I'm a pantheist and I was curious about your faith, it seems you hold ideas that sound great and magical, but the paragon view, comes at the price of severe weakness and disconnection from reality and nature, weakness which hurts more good people in the long run. Learning over past actions of the Unitarian Universalism, show that they often ended on the side of the oppressing force and led to a great deal of death and suffering, despite the kind heart wishes. In essence, I'm sure you guys make for the best kind of neighbors(in times of peace), but when it comes to making tough political situation, or having someone watch your back against a vicious enemy I would have other neighbors.
The speaker's heartful appreciation of Margaret Fuller is admirable. Were it not for the fact that she plagiarized my research subject's work, I might be inclined to leave matters be. Unfortunately, she falsely claimed authorship of the reviews in "The Dial" signed "F.", and the reviews, essays and reports signed with an asterisk ("star") in the 1844-46 New York "Tribune." She then brazenly plagiarized eleven of these pieces in her 1846 compilation, "Papers on Literature and Art." I agree she was a pioneering feminist, but as a philosopher and a mystic, in my personal opinion she was an imposter, raised to be something she did not have the native capacity for by her father. Mathew Franklin Whittier, my subject, was a real philosopher; and the woman who taught him mysticism, his wife Abby Poyen, was a real mystic.
You don't earn salvation, it's given freely to those that ask, and believe in the death and resurrection of our Lord. Who died so you don't have to, for he is good and just. But no man is good, we all fall short, and even your good deeds are like dirty rags. So it's not through merit that you are saved, but through faith in Jesus death, resurrection, repentance and turning from sin. God will not force you to love him, because that wouldn't be love. And if you wish to live separate from him, then he will honor that, there's always consequences for our decisions, In everything we do in life, and as eternal beings the only other place there is to go after death, is away from God like you wanted which is hell. Eternal separation from God. Make know mistake God didn't send you there, you chose to go there. There is no moral standard with out God. Good and evil become subjective. And anyone could decide what's good and evil, which is chaos. Good and evil, right and wrong would be so convoluted anything could be justified, even murder. Without God's standard, you have nothing to measure your morality against. And your moral standard becomes a subjective preference, where it's all relative, there is no morality only preference.
John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." Do not be fooled. A Church is a building used for Christian worship. UU is not Christian. UU denies Christian beliefs while claiming to still be a Church. UU is designed to make you feel good, not save your soul from sin.

I think our ALL loving God has sent us here to learn to be a community, learn to be as one. To love each other and not judge. One religion is not any more correct than another religion. You’ve been brainwashed to think you are in an elite club for God. Our spirits all belong to him in the end. We will find more joy in this world if we all realize this And live this life to the fullest. I was indoctrinated without choice into the Southern Baptist Religion, and believed it with all my heart for 54 years. Unlike you, I have actually read and studied that book for almost all of my life, and taught apologetics classes in church to help others “defend the faith”. I was a 110%, bible-carrying, true believer and can demonstrate it in any way you want. And I think that’s what scares folks like you. I know it did me…until my eyes were finally opened. How did it unravel? I’ll give a synopsis: 1. I live in the south; the rampant hypocrisy of Trump voters during the pandemic started the ball rolling. I actually believed in the words in that book - they only use it as a prop. 2. I read a book from Tyndale Publishers, “Pagan Christianity” - a Christian publisher! - that went into great detail how all the trappings and traditions of Christianity were stolen from pagan ceremonies. The author tried to twist it into a narrative that supported the church, but instead, it sent me down a rabbit hole of discovery. 3. I have read the Bible in total more times than I can count. I will not break it down for you, but I decided to read it completely through over a few days like a novel. I was shocked what complete and total inane hogwash it is when looked at as a whole. To call this mishmash of Bronze Age fables the “inerrant word” of an all-knowing being is freaking laughable. 4. The more I researched, I started finding how most of the stories were stolen and plagiarized from prior religions. In particular, there are 3rd day resurrection stories in religions going back millennia. Even the water into wine story was stolen; the flood myth has nearly 20 precedents in other religions. 4. The first book of the "gospels" to which you allude was written 70 years after the supposed death of Jesus. There was no social media, no TV, no radio, no print - in other words, this was passed down orally over 7+ decades. 5. And I could go on and on. I was not given a choice: I was indoctrinated since birth by a Baptist deacon father; my mother played the piano at church until she died in 2017, and my grandfather was a Baptist minister who “planted” 3 churches that are still in existence. I will ask you: how long have you been a believer? I know that I thought my belief was infallible - just like you. It’s not real - it’s just your feelings. And what I found was that our world and our universe is infinitely more interesting and amazing as it has evolved over the past 13 million years than any story about men in the sky and magical middle-eastern gurus from 2000 years ago. If your belief makes you feel warm, cozy, and safe, and provides you with an air of superiority over “sinners” who are “going to hell” - good for you; there are millions more just like you. And now you can go to church this morning (if you actually go) and let your fellow believers know about how you went to defend the faith on social media - good for you! I have chosen the sanity, rationality, and compassion for my fellow humans that the Unitarian Church provides and am happier for it. I did it your way for over 50 years, and this works better for me. I'll take Unitarianism. The 4 canonical gospels of the New Testament do not contain eyewitness testimony of the life of Jesus, as apologists often claim. In fact, evidence from the church fathers (Justin Martyr in Dialogue With Trypho, and Irenaeus) indicates that the gospels were not known by the titles “Matthew,” “Mark,” “Luke,” and “John” until almost a century after they were written. The quotes from Papias (130 AD) that Matthew and Mark wrote down “sayings” from Jesus do not describe the gospels, which are primarily narrative accounts and not just collections of sayings. It’s also highly unlikely Matthew was written by a disciple of Jesus since he copies 94% of Mark, who was not an eyewitness. Apologists misinterpret the introduction of Luke as claiming he interviewed eyewitnesses, when all he really claims is that he used previous sources that he believed came from eyewitnesses. The late date of Luke’s composition (95 AD or later) makes it unlikely any eyewitnesses were still alive when he wrote his gospel.@@isaaccox737

I'm not really "scared" that somebody else reads scripture, in fact I rejoice in somebody taking in the word. This isn't going to sound nice and I don't mean to doubt the history of your faith you gave me, but it's hard to buy that you possess a thorough understanding of, or education of scripture when you don't have a correct view on the gospel or covenantal redemptive history. This isn't the gospel message nor what I claimed to believe. The Bible says all have sinned (Rom 3:23) and that he who sins is slave to sin (John 8:34). I am a sinner and you are, we both fall short of God's holy standard and are therefore undeserving of his grace. God has no obligation as our creator to paradoxically exist with a creature that is in rebellion against him as his image bearer. We are all therefore accountable and deserving of wrath. (Rom 1:18-20) Due to this, God is just in enacting his wrath and justice upon us. Some call this unfair, however it is just. Luckily, unlike the fallen angels who got fairness and justice, mankind receives mercy through Christ's atonement. The reason me and you need that atonement is because we are in sin (Rom 3:23 & Psalm 51:5). I cannot have a superiority complex because I am saved when I am not the one who saved me, God is. The difference between Christians, and progressive universalist, is that a Christian acknowledges his sin and puts his faith in Christ for forgiveness (1 John 1:8-9) whereas progressives tend to label sin as ok, therefore not needing forgiveness. It's much easier to walk through life sinning and calling anybody who exposes that sin unloving and a simpleton, but it is a path that leads to hell. Most of the rest of your argument was copy and paste reddit level myths of scripture and Christianity that would take too long to break down but beg the question of why even be religious if you don't accept God's canonical word? Church is just an abstract concept to feel good about at that point. Pilate, Turtellian, and Tiberious Caesar's testimonies bear historical proof to the resurrection of Christ, Daniel's prophesies of Christ written hundreds of years before his incarnation prove scriptures reliability as well as the Olivet Discourse predicting the fall of Jerusalem in 70A.D. by Christ 40 years prior. Textual criticism proves the reliability of scripture. If I was going to disagree with Augustine, Aquinas, Turtellian, Josephus, Tiberious, the entire field of textual criticism and 2000 years of church theology, I would hope to have a much better argument than "To CaLl ThIs MiShMaSh Of BrOnZe AgE fAbLeS tHe “inerrant word” Of An AlL-kNoWiNg BeInG iS fReAkInG lAuGhAbLe". Not suprised by this. The Bible spoke of this that in the last days, people would want to hear things that tickle their own ears. Though speaking the points of Judeo Christian values, UU have chosen to distort much of Gods Word, denying the Divinity of Christ.
I love the sentiment but the whole "if there's a God" vibe is where you lose me. The gospel is a loud, confident, declaration that we have an intimate, loving Father that would move heaven and earth to commune with us in our every moment! The inclusivity of our Father is scandalous! I'm not so sure about your take on the term "heretic." Yes, it's "able to choose," but more specifically it "one who chose a doctrine at variance with established or dominant standards." I like it. I'm a heretic.
