Welcome to Music Unpacked! I'm Chris, a classically trained orchestral conductor, educator, instrumentalist, composer, arranger, & music geek.
This is a channel to answer all your music questions, whatever your experience. I love a wide range of styles and topics from theory to practice, instrument knowledge to analysis, and from how orchestras work to the physics of music. I hope you find these videos helpful and enjoyable. If you like this content you can help by sharing with others. We can make the mysteries of music fun and accessible for everyone.
I'd love to hear your thoughts so if there's something you'd like to see me cover then please get in touch!
Well hopefully I can make lots more double bass videos in the future. I'd love to do some more about the physics, how instruments are made, expert players showing off, extended techniques, etc. Just starting bit by bit for now
It was great! Even though you tried hard not to succeed. 😂 I wish I could get a "Daf" here. Then we could probably make a video together to introduce this mystical instrument. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daf
@@amirbpm thanks and you might underestimate how hard these are! I could do a but of catching after a week but not very in time. One day I'll have some Iranian instruments on the channell :)
Very clear explanations. I can easily learn as a beginner here. Thanks so much for sharing this knowledge. My ultimate dream to learn and play piano. God Bless you more.
Thank you very much, extremely helpful!! Would be great to see another video like this about rhythm, length of notes etc, you explain in a simple, easy way, thank you ❤❤❤
@LarryhereonRU-vid Yhanks and glad to hear it! I don't think I could really sleep to a metronome though. I've got very sensitive ears and senses generally
Yep Chris makes me smile too, sometimes he makes me giggle and other times he makes me burst out laughing 🎉 Personally I find a metronome quietly reassuring, a bit like having a grandfather clock in the home (❤G’ma C)🕰️
Wow it genuinely always puzzled me how trumpets only had 3 valves but it actually makes perfect sense now that I finally know its all done through embouchure! Great vid :)
Thanks Stephanie! To be honest I think my analogy is good too and haven't seen anyone else describe it that way. I'll try to make more videos with different ways of visualise things to help
I have been playing violin for years now, so I obviously know the basics of notes. Even then, I was still able to learn something in this video! You're really good at explaining things
Haha yeah good question! At least it doesn't say ONLY goos buys deserve food. Also girls and even bad boys and girls deserve food. Instead of "All Cows Eat Grass", one of my students says "Girls Buy Dressed From Asda" for the bass clef. Maybe you can make your own one starting with Girls...( B D F A)?
