Class video mate, been looking to do this for a while i was wondering how u got the chance to do that is there a way I could go do that or is that by special invite?
Thanks! This ranch was owned by my friend who is a commercial scallop diver. He’s recently sold it so there’s way to get access to it now unfortunately- not legally anyway
Black Hill in Collace was my favorite as a kid just for the easier access but most if not all of the hills there are a treasure trove for quartz collectors.
Hey Tom! That looks amazing and love how you present the scallops. Do you know the name of those golden trays underneath? (though with my skills I hardly fill one of them!)😄
@@tjashton my wife is California Native American and every spring we go to the north coast and harvest seaweed. We rinse it off in sea water then dry it out in the sun and store it in paper bags. We fry it and use it in other dishes. So if something is valuable it doesn’t matter the amount one pound or a thousand pounds.
Are these worth money tom a live here in arbroath and fish all around boddin usan etc etc from the shore a have seen 100s of these and never even gave them a thought mate haha
I don’t think they’re worth anything much. But I’ve never tried to sell them. It’s just a hobby. Loads of them here in Dundee too (not as good as Usan)
@@tjashton wow… that’s a long time! Did you buy an established business or are you starting from scratch? I really hope it all pays off mate. When did you get going with it? Last year? I’ve got a million questions I want to ask about it, it’s fascinating. I know the RU-vid comments section isn’t the place though, so I’ll contain myself! I very much hope you post more videos of the farm as time goes by!
Really cool to see some more of the farm, I hope it’s going really well for you!! As you’ve got ropes and gear in the water, could you add some mussel ropes for extra revenue? Or is that complicating things way too much?
Mussels sell for a low price so you need very big farms to make money. However we do get a lot of really nice mussels growing on the bouys and gear. We do sell a few locally and I like taking them home to eat!
Stop m8!! There is a 1000ft cliff straight ahead with snow hanging over the edge..I remember seeing track's in the snow left by dummies going for a look at the top of Ben Nevis....He .ust be safe as he is wearing special whiteout proof goggles and looking at the camera more than where he is walking!! Fool ego....
I hope you told people where you were going, had the proper equipment, we have climbers coming to Scotland then have to be rescued causing danger to life.
For me the proof of how scary the ridge is that for my second time around the munros I climbed each from either end and missed out the middle section. Didn't like it at all doing the traverse first time. I'd say cuillin and torridon ridges feel far better underfoot.
What a find! I was obsessed with crystals and a kid and have passed on my collection to my 5 year old who is desperate to go find some now after watching these videos! 👍
