Saw a recent television performance (2024). “Broken Man” …unimpressive. Typical pop song with a few wild guitar jabs inserted here and there. She didn’t even play an instrument. She changed her look almost entirely (as usual, I guess she’s got the same manager as Katy Perry) I was turned off by her look and stage character/persona (trying to be an emotive lead singer?) …The 2018 Austin City Limits show and other shows on that tour were unforgettable! She kicked ass! Being one of my guitar heroes, I was angered that she didn’t play on the song.
Someone’s cup of tea. Not mine. She does what she does and does it well. Just not for me. But hey, lots of guitarists out there that are in the same boat. Just play to your audience..
I love this... I'm a die-hard classical and jazz guitarist, yet there's something infectious and authentic about her attitude. I've heard worse guitarists down the pub, that's for sure. She seems to move between controlled cacophany and quite tasty muscular phrasing. I definitely got some Hendrix, Thurston Moore, and Neil Young vibes. She's having fun, selling tickets, and kicking arse.
" SOME OF THESE RIFFS ARE IMPROV!! i've leave timestamps of the improvised riffs if I can remember later, but.. I was taking that into consideration making this video, like 'this isn't the greatest thing ever, but it's incredibly good for improv" y'know??" This barely qualifies as good improvisation, and I can tell you don't listen to a lot of guitar improv if you genuinely think that
O" Wow !! 😄 Eventhough I'm A 67 Year Old Guy & Never Really Been A Rock Music Fan, This Lovely & Talented Young Lady Surely Takes It To A Very Tolerable & Creative Listening Level. 😃😲 Seriously !!
horrible... as in a horrible in a way that makes it awesome. Much of it makes no sense but it fits together some how. One of those I wish i could hate it but love it instead. Can we just take a moment and appreciate that she did all this in those heels? that alone should be RaRHall worthy :-)
Sorry, but she’s terrible. I hear clam after clam intermingled with shitty guitar effects. I could find an alt-rock guitar player practing in his Mom’s garage who is a better guitar player.
A dog once stepped on the strings of my friend's guitar. The sound it made was better than her playing. People will say "it's just not your style" or "you're just not into the kind of music she makes" but it's just that she's bad at guitar.
You two make pleasant music. Thank you. For being pleasant musicians. I hope this is a, "how to be well." I'll give it a shot. Maybe. Least I can do, right?
26th guitarist of all time according to rolling stones mag. In-between john frusciante (she solos like him to be fair but he has some of the smartest chord progressions) and buddy guy which blows my mind. idk
This is the guitar equivalent of yoko interrupting Chuck and John's performance. None of this sounds good or is even that impressive technically. She just plays random notes with heavy distortion and reverb/delay.
I can’t help but feel that the majority of negative comments on here are simply from people who don’t like to see a talented female being innovative and thinking outside of the box. I’m sorry but you have to respect the fact that she moves to the beat of her own drum and she is in FACT very talented.
or simply she sucks ? If you want "talented female being innovative and thinking outside the box" you can go listen to Yvette Young or Sarah Longfield. This has nothing to do with gender
She isn't a shredder like so many of the 80s guitarists but do we need more shredders since they are a dime a dozen? I love that she is a experimental guitarist that mixes different sounds and styles in her playing and does the same with her vocals as well. This makes her unique in my opinion so why all the hate in the comments? Aren't people really sick of hearing EVH or Malmsteen clones?
