We love you Cajun Max and your fellow musicians. You remind me of the tiny, I mean tiny community where we'd go to the community hall Saturday nights and we'd all play music and dance. Then there was the tavern, where people came from all over the state to hear the Maddy Brothers play live music. Everyone had radios and not very many folks had tv's, and they'd all be playing country music and Shotisch music (music from "the old country." That was a very long time ago, so today you don't see the young folks play live music for their families and communities. In the summers we'd go to the lake shore(s) and play music and strangers from all around would come and listen enraptured. Happy Birthday, Cajun Max!

Thank you. I also would like to go to Louisiana more often. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, so I don't get to see my LA friends as much as I'd like to. Thankfully, there is a small Cajun community here, in the Bay Area, so I get to have some fun.

@@cajunmax dans l'ensemble, les traductions de l'anglais au français sont excellente dans google translate. Cependant, le français qui est parlé par les Cadiens est un vieux français sous Le Roi Louis XIV, que moi-même, j'ai du mal à comprendre, mais en plus, ils ont un accent. Dans plusieurs régions de France, les gens ont un accent propre à leur région. Par exemple, ils expriment des expressions qui n'existent plus en France aujourd'hui.
Ouais, ils utilisent en quelque sorte des mots d'argot. Je ne l'ai jamais vraiment compris --- à part quelques mots. La musique cajun a commencé en France, puis elle a voyagé au Canada (Nouvelle-Écosse, alias Pays Acadien), mais un jour, des gens sont arrivés et les ont expulsés. Ils ont donc déménagé dans le sud-ouest de la Louisiane. Par coïncidence, un Cajun nommé Bruce Daigrepont a écrit une chanson intitulée « Acadie A La Louisiane ». (Acadia To Louisiana)
I sing in Cajun French from Southwest Louisiana. I saw a Cajun band at our local Farmers Market and I thought it was cool, so after I finished 2nd grade, I went down to Louisiana and got an accordion built by Marc Savoy and that is how I started all of this.
