Growing up, I slept on the floor until I was 10 and moved from a couch to a bed when I was 12. If I was starting over, I'd definitely live there for $200.
First time watching. As a former civil rights lawyer now in my 60s, I can relate to getting hateful comments on the internet, especially when I won cases. I even remember once telling my brother something bad and untruthful someone said about me on the internet and him replying, "They're saying a lot worse than that. You just haven't seen it yet." Fortunately, I have a duck's back, as in, insults and threats run off me like water off a duck's back. The best response is to continue succeeding, and it looks like you're already doing that. I wish you success and a duck's back.
🧇🧇🧇 Waffle emoji is so underated! I’ve never given it the attention it truly deserves! Now if we just had a scattered hash browns emoji! Waffle House was always a dependable destination for everyone at my high school. Probably bc it’s always open! It’s like going home, so familiar. I saw some of the WH training videos on youtube recently and their employees are trained to plate and call out orders in a way that is unique to WH! It was so complicated and made zero sense, so I don’t know if I could even memorize it. Gave me a new appreciation for their employees. I’m glad you chose to make sleep more of a priority. I’ve fallen asleep in the middle of convos with people like you describe. Gotta pour into yourself so you can pour into others. Is that how the saying goes?? Put the oxygen mask on yourself first, as they say on the plane announcements. I really like traveling to photograph new places and everything along the way, so your channel is perfect for me. I’ll probably never get to visit some of the places you’ve been myself, so I enjoy your stories. Luckily youtube recommended your videos to me! ❤

So interesting 😯 I've never been in the restaurant business myself, but respect the workers so much, especially at 24-hour facilites like Waffle House. It's a job that comes with a lot of unique challenges for sure. I'm so glad you feel the channel's a good content fit for you! @@lubas4945 I only need 2 - 3lbs max due to meal plan rotations and me moving out soon. The per-pound portion is definitely important for knowing how much value you're getting, but sometimes I only need so much so I factor that + overall sticker price in to help keep on budget and avoid food waste.

I know it's tempting to feel bad about not using all your time productively but remember this is kind of a scam we play on ourselves. Resting IS productive time. If you don't take the rest, your body will demand it at an inopportune time. Anyway, thanks for the great content!

There are plenty of facilities with a strict "no social posting on the premises" policy, and all it takes is one medical professional doing something extra unprofessional on their socials for everybody to start a period of cracking down hard on all of us. I feel it's better to play it safe, for myself and the privacy of my patients. Even though I would honestly love to show more behind the scenes/day in the hospital life. I know it's something that would have been a really cool resource/reference to me when I first started considering a career in the medical field. Amsterdam-Schiphol had a red line painted along all walls of the upper floor. It was removed when passengers discovered its meaning, freaking out in anxiety. It showed the sea level. The runway and tarmac are 7m/21ft below it ...

Do not fly WITHIN Europe. Between some destinations train travel is must faster and easier. Stay clear of the summer season. Europe is full. Tourists are bringing all capacities to overflow.
It sounds like you got caught up in post Covid bureaucratic chaos. We didn’t fly during the time when most of these supplemental regulations were still in place. I should qualify my recent comments about the Amsterdam airport. Although we have been through the airport many times, rarely (if ever) has Amsterdam been our originating or final destination Airport. I do remember once having a longer layover and heading into town to kill time. But, for the most part, we have just been transferring through the airport. So, I’m not in a position to really know what it’s like to get into an airport for a journey that starts from there. So, in my comments, I was comparing the effort to make connections between two different flights, and that has generally worked well for us. I wasn’t aware for expedited emigration options for Americans (and Chinese?) passengers. The only distinction I have noticed are automatic passport scanners for EU citizens, which I became in 2013. We’ll put that to the test on the Sunday before Christmas. We’ll be flying to IAD from NUE connecting via AMS. Our outbound flight has a connection time of just 1:35, and the connection time for our return flight is 1:10. we’ll see how that goes. I’m preparing for the possibility that we miss our outbound connection, which would leave us stranded in Amsterdam overnight. In such cases, the airline has to pay for a hotel, and it could be an opportunity to visit my brother in law that evening. The incoming flights from the States (our return trip) often arrive early, so we’re fairly confident that we’ll make our homeward bound connection even if our checked luggage doesn’t (that’s happened before). Even if we miss our connection going home, there’s a flight later in the day, so we have options.

I was there for it one year, everybody dresses in purple and there's street vendors serving all kinds of delicious sweets!
