My sister Nicole worked at Robinson’s in the print shop where they made all the signs for the store .I still remembre going up to see her at work once. I was so impressed. She had to take blocks of letters and form word backwards so once printed they would be correct.
Hamilton has nice building or buildings -> torn down for "urban renewal" -> failing mall or parking lot built in its place This city deserves the problems it has now. Bad leadership and shortsighted decisions are a Hamilton specialty.
Sounds great! My uncle - Brian Rust mentioned you years ago and I was listening to your music back then. I have been repairing guitars for over 30 years and play a lot of Blues but always had a desire to lean towards Jazz. Very relaxed guitar playing and very pleasent singing voice. Cheers Bill

Its crazy to see my city be such a vibrant beautiful city with loads of stores and shops and now its become a joke and everything is just dead. No life to it just boring life
I've loved Lawrence Hill's adult fiction and I look forward to reading Beatrice and Croc Harry. BIPOC protagonists were missing from the (non-historical) books that were readily available in my youth, and as an adult, I've really enjoyed reading the contemporary children's fiction that is available today. I appreciate that Aaron was chosen as the interviewer here as well; having young writer in this role fits the discussion's theme of shared cross-generational experiences and empowerment of the younger generations.

Some interesting insights about the main character Adam's internal conflict having to chose between a life and career at something he excels at that brings him fame and fortune versus pursuing his passion and having to work really hard to achieve success.
In reply to Mg. Businesses aren't interested in investing in Hamilton. The days of well paying jobs like American Can, Westinghouse, Proctor & Gamble, Stelco (it's just surviving in Hamilton) Harvester, are gone. Blue collar city it isn't. Stay in school, if you can, & become a professional or tradesman. Something with a good guaranteed income. You can't buy a house working at landscaping. The businesses in downtown went belly up was because of Jackson Square. The only ones investing are condo people.
And yet we keep getting preached that we live in a better progressive and inclusive society where everything in this video is bad--except the two streets.
Oh to have been around in the good old days. It’s fascinating to see how the downtown core was developed over the last 2 centuries. I remember shopping with my parents downtown as a child back in the 1950s & 60s. I knew I should have went into architecture as a young buck. Alas, that’s another story for another day. Thank you for preserving & presenting these. videos. Takes me back to a gentler time.
