There are eight contestants in the studio tonight, and one of them could win up to $1,000,000. They don't know each other, however, if they want to win the prize money they'll have to work as a team. As others have pointed out, this was the opening for the syndicated episodes. But I do believe it did show up in one episode on the DVD release for some reason
I Remember Watching Nightly Business Report When I was A Kid This Show Came Every Weeknight At 5:30pm On Mississippi Public Broadcasting Just Before The News Hour At 6 O'Clock
There were some longer clips that put this case in context that before the word entitled became used this young lady really defines the meme used now. Judge Judy really embarrassed her and her parents also as even her Father was a retired police officer.
I used to watch Designing Women with my grandma on CBS on South Carolina affiliate WCSC on its daytime lineup around 10:00a.m. (ET) right before Family Feud, for 1 year/2 seasons from mid 1991 until June 1992. To my knowledge, it was the last prime time show to run repeats on a daytime schedule on CBS.
The Judge Judy episode that this is from is one of favorites. I love watching this spoiled brat get humiliated on national TV along with her retired police sgt father for their vindictive letter of complaint against officer Robinson.
I do know online streaming networks and services such as Amazon Prime, and Hulu use this introduction for the first 5 seasons (Seasons 1-5) of Designing Women they do not use the original opening credits and theme.
