So engine off correct? No need to secure wheels if parking down the road ?how about the air dryer filter, you have videos how to change it decompress before ?which is your favorite OM source for cheaper parts filters etc?🙏🙏🙏
Correct, engine off so the compressor doesn't kick on to try to fill the tanks that you're emptying. Set the parking brake, which removes the air from the brake chambers, so no need to chalk the wheels. As for the parts, I'm still under warranty, so I take it to the dealership for that stuff, and I let them change them out. Much easier 😁
Awesome video, im kind of the same way with my truck. But my systems are not as refined as you, but as far as the tv goes, in the cascadia you can fit a 40 inch tv. Ive got one in mine, you get a standard household mount and mount it with the bolts for that bunk window
I know I’m a little late to this video but your setup for the tech stuff is awesome. I haven’t seen anything else like it. Your setup here is by far my favorite on YT.
I’m not a PT or doctor… just someone that played sports my whole life and had to deal with bad lower back on a yearly basis. A few of the things I did to help out were first and foremost get my weight down. 2nd I bought an exercise ball and started doing crunches. If you do 5 or 10 crunches per day that’s a great start to start helping support your back. 3rd I bought I new mattress and also kept a foam mattress on floor and in the middle of night I would switch mattresses sometimes going from bed to floor and back to bed. 4th light back stretching many times a day. A PT can probably help for sure but if they suggest something that makes you regress for sure quit that. There were weeks I slept in a chair or sat on couch 24/7 but with lots of rest I got back to 99% good…
I bought a 18 cascadia I will never buy another. Cpc goes out on me twice I put 2 radiator in my 1 box went bad sensor s bad. If u want to see the truck s . Just look on the side the road broke down freightliner. I had a chance to drive a 24 volvo. If I buy another it would be a volvo. My freightliner ride rough. I also like the 24 international with the x15 Cummings
Law grawnd, smile when ya say that or they think yer an ijit or a toorist. "Not a bad truckstop", is about right. The traffic is worse than the hill, and they may pass you on the right, with their car or cascadia. Seen that on grapevine, cajon, parlays, and happy jack.
I'm sorry that you're hurting, I had a lumbar fusion a few years ago, I feel your pain. Are you still leading with Landstar? If so, I am wanting to know how the money is? Like how much is the average amount per mile? My co-driver and I are looking to buy a truck. Do you know if they work with teams? I hope you're feeling better.
Hey, sorry for the late response. I'm feeling better and hopefully will be coming back soon er rather than later. Landstar has been good for me regarding money and opportunities. Of course it's slow right now, as with anywhere, but there are still plenty of loads because the Landstar agents also get loads from the public load boards. More options. And yes, they absolutely love team drivers and have loads that are specifically meant for team drivers. It's easy to filter the load board to show just those loads. Hope that helps.
Other way around. Sliding it back increases the wheel base which smooths it out. But only very minimally. What matters most is balancing the weight between the rear axels and the trailer tandems. If they're close to the same, you'll have a smoother ride.
Hey JJ, new trucker here I'm still in school going to be getting my CDL in a couple weeks thanks for the information in this one about the MPGs in the cascadia. I plan on working for prime after I get my 6 months experience working for another megacarrier 👍🏼 ... about the owner ops you said that their governed at 65 but I've definitely seen owner ops flying down the hwy at 70 to at least 85- one guy weaved through traffic around this speed with a dump trailer. no signals on. Guess he was being paid by load. 🤷🏽♂️
The owner op's at Prime are governed. Each carrier is different. At Landstar, they don't care what it's set to. There may be some Prime trailers that go faster because Prime has a 3rd load board for outside carriers (independent owner ops) and they're not limited.
The dealership can make some adjustments to some of the stuff, or turn it off completely. IF you own the truck. If it's a lease or company truck, the dealership will need the owners permission.
I literally just watched this video to help a guy at the truck stop. I didn’t know how to do it so we learned together! Good stuff bro.. Thanks for this!
Peterbuilt is so smooth, volvo is not bad freightliner daycab what I drive now and what I have most experience in yeah. My brain feels like it's gonna bounce out of my skull sometimes
hey i have a genuine question. my fifth wheel is not locking itself even tho i click the in can buttons and still it just kept sliding each time i hook/unhook the trl it
@JJTheTrucker I'm a new subscriber. My son is just starting out and we love your video from 4 years ago showing us your interior set up! Where did you get that fridge? What are the specs? We are so sorry to hear you're having back pain! An MRI is a great idea, and maybe a pain clinic that could do a denervation? Praying you'll have relief very soon!
