Being from Reggio Emilia, the city under whose jurisdiction Guastalla also is placed, I was very curious about this concerto, and must say I'm fully satisfied by it.
The jerky, aggressive splendour of the music, and the fine painting of the royal occasion, well capture the dangerous world of the French court in the late 17th century, where a moment of carelessness might cost you your life. In the painting, I wonder what those bits of rubbish on the stairs are -- the remains of courtiers who failed to approach the king with the proper gestures of humility, and were hacked to bits by the soldiers?
I'm sorry but I think it's all a bit hurried. I like to hear every note from the horns and enjoy their 'togetherness'. The notes are too quick to be properly formed.
Bravissimi! Siete tra i pochi a proporre queste gemme dimenticate. Affascinante soprattutto il primo e l'ultimo movimento : Telemann che non si piega allo stile moderno ma si rende conto che il barocco (lui non lo chiamava ancora così) è definitivamente alle spalle e allora inventa letteralmente uno stile nuovo e personale. Un saluto a Federico Guglielmo anche nel ricordo del suo grande papà: lo conobbi che aveva poco più di 10 anni ( io forse il doppio)nella loro villa a Vicenza. Papà Giovanni si esibì nella ciaccona di Bach davanti a me e al professor Marcello Peretti estasiati!
Salve amici della musica ,Adriano Banchieri compositore Del seicento , lo si capisce dallo stile compositivo ,questo paragrafo strumentale non giunge nuovo , lo si trova in quasi se non in tutti i compositori di quel periodo ,che dire orecchiabili almeno la parte strumentale ,quella vocale invece per chi piace , per i miei gusti personali non sento la necessità di avvicinarmi .
