I lived from birth to six years old at my Nan & Grandad's cottage, (with my Mum, and Nanny and Grandad)... That cottage had an outside loo, in the back yard enroute to Grandad's back garden, but I dont recall having an underbed 'p' bucket ...though .. there may've been a "china po" - (chamber pot). From six, I moved with my Mum into the man who became my stepdad*...and from six to roughly eleven, I did have an underbed 'p' bucket - it was dark green! He* just gad an outdoor loo in the garden outside the kitchen (it was less unsavoury than it sounds!!) When I was around eleven, I recall spending a weekend with my Grandad (my Nan had died when I was seven) and when I came home, I had been moved from my bedroom at the top of the stairs to further along the top landing (just three stairs above) and my room had been converted into a bathroom with washbasin in fron of the window, a loo in the far left corner, and a big white bath on the outide wall opposite... So, according to Frank, here, I was born/ raised "working class" and _not_ "posh"!! Thanks Frank. Now I know _who_ _and_ _what_ I am...and exactly _why_ !! It's good to know isn't it?! 🤔👍🙂🏴♥️🤫🇬🇧🤭🖖

I detected a bit of venom in Jim Rosenthal's voice when he said: "The final is a dreadful anti climax, a shoddy advertisement for the great game!". It is true the final was a disappointment, but I can't help but feel that the way he said is partially at least because it was against two of England's most bitter enemies and England came so close to getting to the Final.
I will never forget the night the episode with Rick Mayal and Rowan Attickson together aired for the first time. The next day at school (Royal Russell) everyone was re-enacting scenes and lines worked there way into class. Blackadder and The Young Ones had a huge impact. But you appreciate it more and more with age and wisdom.
