Hello and thank you for visiting my RU-vid Channel! This channel is dedicated to sharing and celebrating music and singing. I will be sharing videos of myself making music, as well as how YOU can become a better singer!
hi, I loveed your reactions to Nightwish .. thank you .. I have a suggestion . In another aub-genre of metal .. Babymetal and their song Monochrome -.. I would get you to listem to two versions back to back - the first from the "first take " you tube channel is a bare piano and vocal version (live - one take only) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h-hPGRSjgms.html , the second is the full band live ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2bQo7L7I3_o.html . Maybe not a Floor Jansen , but I'd like to hear your throughts.
Here is a suggestion which I am certain others have recommended. I am choosing this particular version because you rightfully seem to prefer live music, which makes perfect sense as studios can make anyone sound good, and your experience with orchestal styles. Queensryche is a must-listen. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8CZGion20E4.htmlsi=CQ3Oe5R-P_DkSWqq
You mentioned techniques in singing, I suggest learning a little about 'fry' screaming, which is used in metal signing, then watch Linkin Park - Given up. DISCLAIMER: This comment comes from the ignorance of not knowing what you know, so if I have made a wrongful assumption, I am sorry if it was rude.
This set took place only a few months after she joined the band mid-tour as an emergency replacement for Anette Olzon, and while she was still scrambling to learn the songs and put her own spin on them. Even so it's a fantastic and dynamic take and departure from Tarja and Anette's takes on the same song.
28:12 “that is how you end a ten minute song” (Laughs in “greatest show on earth”) (To be fair, the climax is still a handful of minutes from the end of the piece overall…but the 4th collective shout of “we were here!” Has so much power, both in singing and emotion, behind it, it’s just as, if not more amazing than this)
Regarding pronouncing her name: you were slightly off in the sound "Finnish". It's pronounced "Dutch". Other than that, you were bang on the first time. :) Also, switch it up a gear and do that other fan favorite "my new hobby is watching professional singers react to this song": Jinjer - Pisces (live session). And then you will have a second rabbit hole to go down in. :D
Not symphonic metal but more power metal, you should check out Suzuka Nakamoto in Babymetal. Check the live version of their "Road to Resistance" (live in Japan).
First, that "crazy high note" was a G#5. Her entire range is C3-F6 so she can go higher. Second, The Charismatic Voice just did a "Tea Time" interview with Floor a couple of days ago here on RU-vid where they cover a lot of ground about her music, life, motherhood, and the balancing of all of those aspects.
Anything you see that has her name on it will be a wonderful experience 🩷 but Nightwish is also really good music, so combine them both and it's an explosion 💥🎉🩷
Nick, you do a great job reacting to this symphonic metal classic. Please put Alterium on your radar! Altrium is new symphonic speed-metal band with a veteran Italio-Etrusci diva Nicoletta Rosellini! Another multi-talented European musician who inspires with a few goosebumps.
As a total metal head from the 80s, and also of lover of classical music, the blend here could not be better. Also, metal does get some static, but I really think metal is where the best musicians (rock, pop,..) are. Metal musicians can play just about anything. I know there is fringe screaming and growling. But classic metal is great. Check out Ronny Dio, Bruce Dickenson, Sebastian Bach, Rik Emmet to name a few vocalists. I also think metal, like classical, is a very moving musical experience. Enjoying your into to good metal music.
I'm telling you, as she hits the end - I can't breath. I find myself holding my breath, and then when she hits it, I can't help it, the tears come out. It is just so beautiful. I am so glad you watched this and gave your feedback too.
I hope you get the notification for this, even though this is one of your older videos. If you get a chance could you please check out and react to Diana Ankudinova performing this same song - Can't Help Falling In Love? I think you will find it very interesting.
Nightwish Iowa here. I'm sure I'm a little late; the others have already been here. I see Gabriel has been too. Follow the playlist he's given, you will not regret it. But, I LOVE your facial expressions. Mine are the exact same - what I mean, is that my eyeballs also roll into the back of my head. I love the technical review, too, as I'm always glad when singers can evaluate the aspect of singing.
if your really going down the rock voice and distortion hole, it would be criminal not to mention Jinjer "Pisces live section" , and Jinjer "Wacken" Perennial show. Pisces live in the studio first. The Charismatic Voice, Elizabeth, went down the rabbit hole and is trying to bring awareness through research. I enjoy seeing if your perspective has widened in a few months.
Thank you for showing this video. I discovered Dimash about 2 months ago on You Tube. He is the most beautiful, powerful singer I have ever heard. In my opinion, he is the best singer in the world.❤
The reason I've been a lifelong metal AND classical fan is because both genres do beauty and brutality, epic and intimate, and everything in between better than pretty much any other music out there. This is very much the "beauty" side of metal. For the "brutal" side (but equally impressive in a completely different way) I'd highly recommend Lorna Shore's To the Hellfire. For a great mixture of both beauty and brutality, try Opeth's Ghost of Perdition. For all you metalheads wanting some brutal classical, try Bartok's 4th String Quartet. I swear you can headbang to it!
Marco Hietala produced a Collection of metal covers a wide variety of genres along with several other Finnish metal singers who formed a bad called Northern Kings. They covered everything from Phil Collins to Tina Turner. My favorite is their cover of Frank Sinatra’s My Way. Well worth a listen. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aoQl1OBjdNo.htmlsi=1z-qKMPRdYeTqpw9
