You are right, the "R" sound is uniquely American and a hallmark of the American accent and language. You have a good ear and can switch between accents very well. Good job also on explaining the T+N . . that's not an easy one. Very good job Janhavi! As an American English tutor for pronunciation for over 15 years you are doing a great job! You are a linguist in the making!
Well done, it amazes me how many native Americans speak terrible english. They also have major prejudice against the Indian accent. If you speak with a British or American accent and you're articulate you'll be successful in the job market. Keep up the good work Janhavi !
Why would I need an American Accent? I speak good English without any pretentious accent. You sound so fake, you’re an Indian , arent you? If the person on the other side understands what you’re uttering is good enough. No need to have any made up accents. Just be yourself.
Friends, first of all you have to be familiar with the meaning of many words in english language to speak it fluently and english accent is not that necessary in India at all.
