@@BlackJeepConvertible For me it was on the driver's side. It took me a while to realize it was the sunroof, but now I blow on it every once in a while.
Hey all, took mine in to a reputable (non dealer) shop. Issue is timing chain slap and tensioners. Shop tech stated “it’s a known issue on these engines”. Replaced timing chain and tensioner components. Sound is gone.
Well, you can probably let it slide for awhile as several owners have lived with it now for quite some time. However, if the timing chain goes there’s a good chance the engine goes with it so it’s low probability high risk kind of thing. If you’re planning on keeping the jeep I’d look to get it done at some point in the next few oil changes (10-20K) but that’s just one person’s opinion.
More like 3k after selling my hardtop. Plus I use it nearly every single day and it makes happy every time I use it 🤷♂️ Life is about smiles per gallon. I have 0 regrets
@ducknorris233 the top yeah, but the bottom is blocked by linkages. The top stops moving the moment you let go of the button so just watch your kids when closing the top or stick a banana in there and show them what happens (might not even crush a banana though, I never tried)
I know they say it's normal but if that is the case why don't they all sound like that? I got mine with 125k km and it wasn't sounding like that, it is more profound now. And it's not just cold running.
@@BlackJeepConvertible it would be interesting to know if upon changing the oil the noise becomes less. Also if you Rev at idle is there point where it stops?
bro cut out half of the fucking installation. Why? Just post the whole thing. You have 319 subscribers, i dont think worrying about viewer retention is very relevant to your ass. Fuck you. Im genuinely angry at you.
@@BlackJeepConvertible Ha, we went out of our way to order one of the last 2017 JK's knowing the JL would be loaded with infotainment centers and more woke crap than we wanted. We're proud owners of two Jeeps not designed by FIAT. P.S. We are aware Jeep re-titled left over 2017's as 2018 JK's those were Wranglers bumped up during production fixed and sold as 2018 JK's in our opinion. Just a guess!
Badass!! I use my hardtop in the summer and soft top the rest of the year. I go topless every chance I get, everyday. You're missing out on the full Jeep experience if you've never had a soft top. This mod is pretty rad. I picked up a Hot Heads headliner and it helps with the heat/noise. Who complains about noise when they open a Jeep anyways. Lol

The windows are also split down the middle where it naturally folds. Get one. It will change your entire ownership experience being able to drop that giant top anytime you want
@Black Jeep Convertible I'm thinking more and more about switching to this same type of roof but im scared of the winter time. We haven't had a bad winter in brooklyn this year but sometimes it gets really brutal and I'm not sure how the roof will hold up under heavy snow..... but if I make any more mods to my wrangler, this for sure will be it
I’m in nyc too, did you see my winter drifting video? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5nkwl2eDBKM.html it’s warmer and quieter than the hardtop I used to have (sold for $1500 to help pay for mytop) mention my username when you order and they’ll take care of you
