You said that the Odin 2 got better ergonomics than the Odin 2 mini. I got Tenosynovitis, so chronical pain in my arms and i'm unsure which device to choose. I had the steam deck and it was quite comfortable to play, especially cause it had the right sticks layouted over it's buttons. Which one would you recommend in my case?
This, the Odin 2 pro or the RP4P (this being more expensive by about $100)? RP4P interests me due to being D-pad centric, Odin apparently good bang for the buck, this worth it? I mostly like simpler 2D-games so shmups, fighting and indies. If it can play Switch decently it's a BIG plus; so many indies that look good. Edit: D-pad placement on this doesn't look TOO bad but I have pretty small hands... IS it comfy enough?
I think you just said the reason why the RP4 Pro should be your choice! It’s a great form factor, great d-pad, great analog sticks. No it’s not the most powerful thing in the market - especially being released about 8 months ago or so, but it’s hands down solid. The Odin 2 pro is usually my personal recommendation because of the sheer power it packs in there. And the AYANEO Pocket S has the best software and latest, greatest, fastest chipset - but if you’re not using that power, you don’t need it! Also I don’t love the analog sticks. But the d-pad is good, even tho it’s a bit mushy. But that’s another thing to consider. Do you want a membrane d-pad or a clicky d-pad? That’s going to be a big deciding factor for you too! Well that makes the choice HARDER for me because I LIKE the mushier D-pads... 🤔 I think I'll wait out the auction for the RP4P and, depending on where it ends pricewise, either get that or try to haggle the guy selling the Pocket S (and if that doesn't work still possible to import a RP4P down the line).
I think you should buy physical whenever possible. if nintendo bans your switch and account, you're only out the cost of a switch, but if you're banned with all digital, you've wasted thousands of dollars potentially. you can keep your game cases in a bin in the basement. also if you don't like a game, you can sell it, meaning you can recoup costs, and you don't have to download every game to your SD card, which can get expensive if you have a large collection of games. nintendo digital downloads also tend to be more expensive than a used physical game.
Definitely would be a huge UX improvement! But I’m guessing that’s another layer that requires software that would make things a bit more difficult since then we’re no longer looking at an exact 1:1 image of the cartridge image Thanks for watching! 😊

That crooked d-pad doesn't really scream premium, imo, but sure, if you have the money, there are probably worse things to waste your money on. Build quality internally was a garbage fest for quite a while; I wonder if/how much that's changed.
The d-pad is supposed to have some play/movement. This is by design. It's the same with original Gameboy consoles. So the crookedness you see is just the fact that it's able to be moved around like that.
personally i would destroy any cartridges i dumped to this to ensure they don't get duped and blacklisted. it sucks that I'd hav to do that for my own safety, but gotta do what u gotta do

I recently got myself one of the indigo units to replace my current black one. It would be super nice if they would release an OPENFPGA Lynx core and it will be perfect.
I got the black aluminum and have been loving it. I owned the plastic one too and the aluminum d pad is definitely better. First aluminum one i received had a shoulder button issue and rattling buttons. Got a new one sent to me and its great! Price is definitely ridiculous though.
If you want to legally back up your games, you’ll require the dumper. If you obtain the switch games for the MIG Switch in official ways it’s nearly a guarantee ban

I used to be a purist, wanting real hardware & real games... but my reflexes are slower than they used to be & I absolutely prefer -massive libraries, save states,- slow motion & fast forwarding over original hardware. The Analog Pocket looks great, but it just doesn't work for my play style now. ...Didn't watch long enough to see you can still do save states & roms. That's surprising, but makes it closer to being worth the cost. Now if I'd only picked a glow in the dark one up!
I personally own the Standard White one I use everyday and I have a case for that one. I have a Standard Black one for back up on display. I have the transparent LE Red one on display as well as the Aluminum Noir one on display. I only every touch the white one almost everyday. Its such an amazing system.
being a clamshell lover myself, i liked to hear a reviewer who doesn't like them's perspective. The only thing holding me back from getting one is poor battery life.
Nice video, I'm glad you're happy with it. I got the indigo one and had a lot of issues with the controls in particular. I agree with you that the black or white edition is a better prospect, also a +1 for the FunnyPlaying console that cost me the same as my shipping on the Analogue Pocket!
Like arcade shooters? Maybe a joystick is preferable but I think they work pretty well on D-pad too. Maybe the benefit is that you can dock the analogue and connect a controller with an analog sick! Thanks for watching! 😊
Great review. I just wanted to provide one critique. While watching the video, I couldn't help but feel that you are reading a script while recording the video when the camera is on you. It has the side effect of making it feel disingenous. By comparison, when the video is focused on the gameplay, you sound much more natural
Not a dumb question! Right now the answer is no, but that’s dependent on community developed cores. You won’t be able to speed up real cartridges, but if it’s a feature of the cores that let you play ROMs it could be possible. It looks like the WonderSwan core supports fast forward, but that’s it for now Thanks for watching! 😊

This review is mainly false. You can download ANY game and get it to work on the MIG. As long as you have the correct xci/nsp file in the correct root/folder it will work.
Great video! The PS Vita was my favorite handheld. Beautiful design, perfect size, amazing battery life, and a great screen. If I didn't already have a Retroid Pocket 4 Pro I'd have bought this when it released. I am still considering it though.
I ordered mine back in April/may maybe before that I’ve went through e-mail hell with them and I have asked at one point for my money back only to be promised to finally get which I did I didn’t get a fancy little box for it I haven’t tried it out since I need the rest of the stuff to download
