We have one that my Father gave us to store, He said it doesn't keep the time and the pendulum stops. We took it out yesterday to see if it was the case and verified this is indeed the case. I bought some clock oil from Amazon based on some recommendations at $8. The weights are all the way up to the top and I am unsure if they should be much lower as demonstrated in your video. Not sure how or if I should adjust them down. We have all the keys.
I believe This clock was manufactured by Monarch Industries, Littlestown Pennsylvania. I was project manager for design and the building of this clock. I have one of the first ones made hanging on my wall. This clock was made for New England Clock Company.
As a small child in the late 1960's, I remember burning my hands on a Cue Grill. (Don't touch that... it's HOT!!!..... but I just had to test it.....made a believer out of me!!!) I sure wish I had one! I THINK it is the last thing I would like in my cast iron collection..... I know it would cook great, but the nostalgia of my childhood is also a big plus.
This is Totally Awesome!!! I have my 1st grill on the way Everdure name Brand. Can I season this thing with PAM Veg. spray when I first get it . Thanks Joedy
I have a Weber kettle obsession. Now I may have a cast iron grill obsession. I wonder how many are around Indina? I can't remember seeing any in the antique shops. Thanks for the video.
This is the Germanic Nibelungen Saga (like King Arthur in UK) which in the same time when this clock was created gave the material to the famous musician Richard Wagner for his cycle of operas, which are still every year performed in Bayreuth (Bavaria Germany), in a theatre particularly built in 1870th for his operas. This is still a great cultural event where the high society is showing up and it is very difficult to get a ticket.
We have had this clock since 1981. It has been moved and neglected but finally has a permanent home. I have cleaned and lubricated before. Mechanism easy to remove. But I am worried I will have to buy new mechanism and have no idea where or if I can even get it. Love this clock SO much.
What a fabulous collection! I’ve just discovered cast iron hibachis like the Lodge Sportsman’s grill and had no idea there were so many other similar grills. Thanks for a great informative video!
Would you ever consider selling any of your restored Atlanta que-grills ? Very interested in producing one . I can’t seem to find one anywhere even one that’s not restored?😢
Wonderful highlight reel of the Milan's fine points. I think it important to mention that the extreme weight on the time drive wheels makes lubricant imperative. There are bronze bushings in the pivot so it takes minimal lube on each plate's scuppers. A jeweler's regulator is renowned for ACCURACY, due to tremendous inertia on the time drive (8 lbs). They were used to SET the hairspring beat and recoil in railroad grade pocket watches (for train movements) before central dispatching
