I don't wanna take anything away from Richard's performance he is the MJ of playing cards. But before they even tell you the first fooler in the beginning bringing P&T onstage, it was just so bad. The awkward intro and entrance of that weird half hug from penn and then teller who's going in for the next hug changes his mind after seeing that and walks by with his arms open like he wants to hug her but diesnt wanna look has dumb as Penn just did LolololoL.
Magician or not, with his disability, he fooled everybody and should get the best trophy ever. He also shows that our bodies and brain can do much more than what we really think we can. Well done.
literally a master class. seen a lot of amazing acts on this show but no one who just embodied pure effortless skill (the effort is in getting there , obviously)
I understand he can know where every single card is in the deck while they are in his hands based on skill and not sleight of hand.. but she shuffled the deck with the 5 of spades and then he pulled it out of the middle instantly. Amazing
How can people just casually hear such a beautiful personal story and go "Aw, that's nice. Anyway neat card tricks!" Someone should make a huge Hollywood Biopic about Richard.
Yes, it is absolutely spectacular manipulation of the cards. Seeming impossible. Believe me tho, if this guy can do this...hundreds or even thousands can do this...but you'll never know who they are. Many are likely card dealers waiting for that opportunity to strike. As for me, I am done playing TH.
If you havent already, I HIGHLY recommend you watch the documentary on Richard Turner. Its breathtaking. Just unreal. It covers his magic, sure, but also his life, which is just as amazing. Such a blessing we have to have him in our lives.
5:15, The best moment of the whole video. Teller is motioning them to bring in the trophy not even halfway into the master's performance. Amazing! 05/16/2024, 5:35am
In several viewings, the ace of hearts deal off the bottom is the only thing I "caught" him doing mechanically. Never saw the technique on how to place it there or locate it previously in the deck. He still is the greatest to ever do it and still in his prime. Kudos.
The only manipulation i can see is the "cut" at 6:50, where he basically undoes the riffle. And thats with a very close up camera, no way I'd catch thet in person. Amazing!
