Just shows how great a jazz bass player Henrik truly is.

@@RobertClaeson yeah, I agree. Henrik tho disagrees, he thinks he sucks at jazz ;) In a recent interview he said that he never got that much into jazz, but more into other styles. Still, I wish I had 1% of his jazz chops…. ☺️

The song was included on the album, known as 'Zero Disc' among the fans, released in 1989 on a own label as a project for the TV programme, 'Ika-ten', for which Ningen Isu first became famous when they were still amateurs. And it was also newly recorded and included on their professional debut album, 'No Longer Human' (人間失格, Ningen Shikkaku) in 1990. Furthermore, this live footage is from the live album released, featuring the live performance at Shibuya O-West, Tokyo, 2010. Wajima and Suzuki's hometown, Aomori Prefecture, it is in the north-east (Tohoku) region of Japan and specialises in apples. The lyrics are said to compare the selling of daughters by poor farmers there to survive in the poor old days, to apples. However, my memory is a little fuzzy, but I have a memory that Wajima who wrote the lyrics, he denied that this was the case. Apart from the above story, this song is a really early song of theirs. Originally Suzuki wrote a song called ‘Demon’ when he was in high school, imitating Black Sabbath's one, and Wajima arranged it and added lyrics, and ‘Ringo no Namida’ was completed (source: from a video clip on YT from the old local TV program in Aomori, 'Ningen Isu Club'. Search in the following Japanese, '人間椅子 デーモン 鈴木研一 処女作'). The groove from the breakdown at 4:38, it has the atmosphere of Aomori's famous festival, 'Nebuta (ねぶた)', or 'Neputa (ねぷた)' (Suzuki and the fans jumping around). From 5:34, Wajima's guitar solo uses phrases from ‘Tsugaru Shamisen’ (津軽三味線), another traditional Aomori musil art form. And Suzuki and Wajima sing in the Tsugaru dialect of their hometown. So I think it's a mix song of Sabbath riffs, Krimson-like progressive music, tempo changes, and Aomori traditions. Thank you from Japan!

Thanks for a great reaction and breakdown, Brian. This recording of their cover of Just Dance would be amongst maybe only two live recordings of Dirty Loops which I’d suggest watching to anyone. It showcases all of them so well. Jonah’s vocals -that endless riff near the end-, Aron’s tight drumming, and Henrik 😱😱😱 Listen to the original, it’s a fun contrast to this their version of it :) Also their studio version on the Loopified album -it’s equally, if not more, nuts. Re that true temperament fretted bass, there are many videos up on YT with Henrik Linder interviews, where he explains why exactly he likes one, and where those frets come in for him. Also that on some older recording he had to re-tune his bass for every chord or riff, to get it in tune. That TT bass isn’t perfect either, but better than the others in that respect. Thanks for geeking out on those and some other technicalities, -always super interesting for me. And as always, looking forward to more Dirty Loops from you 🙏 Btw, you might’ve heard, Dirty Loops drops a new song this coming Friday, Oct 4!!

They’ve said in the past that Pat Metheny is one of their influences. Can you imagine what a master class a collaboration with Pat Metheny and Dirty Loops would be? It would be incredible.

Amazing Live as well - love these guys D Don´t know if youve listened to "Follow The light" yet, but Jack Gardiner is prly the only one to fill in blank spots & accentuate their stuff - he is good enough Check this out if you will ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZvF0jt2SXZY.html&pp=ygUZamFjayBnYXJkaW5lciBkaXJ0eSBsb29wcw%3D%3D

Many Americans like to appear musicaly knowledgable and above their peers. Open minded to all things musicaly new and embracing to something different. But give any American a 6/8 rock shuffle and their basic needs and transppancy become all too apparent. It's inherently baked in 😂

It really helps when all 3 of your band have very good vocal capability and are all muti-talented when it comes to playing various instruments. I have seen Chris play Bass, lead guitar, keys and harmonica very well. To think these are just 3 school friends from a tiny place in England is kinda astonishing. The chances of getting this much talent from one place x3 at the same time is lottery winning odds and is often overlooked. They are quite an extraordinary story and I have always felt that Muse won't be totally appreciated until they are dead and buried.

They aren't coming near me either. I'm hopping on a plane to go see them in Denver. Go figure. At this point Live Nation owns the entire planet you would think that three years wouldn't go by without a date near me. To be fair though they were supposed to be here with Slipknot and then the war happened.

Jack Gardiner is like Guthrie Govan junior. He does all the things I wish Guthrie did...and his work with Owane brought out the best of both of them and took them to another level. Owane is an amazing guitar player, piano player and producer, and they are just getting better and better. Their last album was really amazing! but they've teased a few snippets from their next unreleased album, and it sounds like it might be their best work yet, which is exciting. You should definitely check out some of the singles from the last album. They are criminally underrated. It's also nice that they seem to have a really great, genuine friendship as well. I think Owane is the godfather of Jacks's kid.

@@GuitarSoloReactions I understand why you feel that way. Guthrie is a difficult one....His solo album Erotic Cakes from 2006 is in my top 5 guitar albums of all time! He really changed the game on that one, and most modern guitarists would not be the same without that album. Most of Jack's work is heavily inspired by Guthrie. There would be no Jack without Guthrie. He's one of those guys like EVH. There is guitar pre-Guthrie and guitar post-Guthrie....and almost nobody can touch him when he is at his best. He can demolish and embarrass most guitar legends and famous guitar virtuosos in a jam session easily, and he's demonstrated that multiple times. That being said, I'm not really a fan of any of the albums Guthrie released after Erotic Cakes.... Nothing that he has released since then, comes close to Erotic Cakes, which is kind of sad....I've been waiting for the next great Guthrie album for almost 16 years since I discovered him - and it never came.....but Jack is still growing and still releasing great stuff....and he is still making all kinds of great content and music. As mentioned; he is doing all the stuff I wish Guthrie did. Jack is consistently making music, content, reviews, lessons, and videos, but Guthrie just kind of disappeared, and is doing jobs with Hans Zimmer and all that, which is cool....but Jack is consistently making content for normal guitarists, which I appreciate. Jack even launched a music learning website with Owane called Musicbro. So Jack is really killing it, and making some incredible stuff! PS: If you haven't seen it; you should check out the video on youtube; "Guthrie Govan Live at Tone Merchants [Full Concert]". Old school Guthrie. 🙃 I don't know of any guitarist who could do anything like that back in 2005! 😯 Actually....I'm not sure anyone could do anything like that even today......😶 If you don't like Guthrie after watching that, then I don't know what to say....🥴

I think of Guthrie like Joe Satriani, Great player, cool technique and insightful players. I just don't care. I'm much more into Matteo Mancuso, Dweezil Zappa, Joshua de La Victoria anf Joseph Anidjar. Cool innovative player that are mysterious and hard to comprehend.
