Nice! Love it! I honestly love every piece of Pac-Man merch, he's just such an iconic character. That Space Invaders lunch box looked neat. You did a pretty damn good job with the aesthetic, being as young as you are, you missed the golden age of Arcades. Honestly, many of them were pretty sketchy places but it was the live MP (fighting, sports, lightgun and racing games were amazing) that really shaped them. It was also the tinnitus inducing sound (Daytona, Virtua Fighter 2 and Super Sidekicks 2 for example would destroy your eardrums). For context, the reason I say they were sketchy is that they'd frequently be a haven to drug dealers and to put it bluntly, predators (not the movie kind!) - we defo don't miss that lmao. More than the sights and sounds, it was even the smell that lingers in the memory - typically a gross combination of popcorn, burger fat, tobacco, metal (due to the coins) and body ddour....it was certainly a unique experience. As well as the multiplayer, the Arcade was the home of emergent technology (up until the mid-90's). i still vividly remember playing Mortal Kombat and being blown away by the incredible gore (Granddad thought it was satanic lmao). Daytona USA, Virtua Fighter 2 and Virtua Cop really blew my mind but after that it was pretty much home console/PC all the way for me. The clip of your Daughter clasping the cabinet was so wholesome and was a snapshot of why Arcades are so wonderful. The sights and sounds would be enticing to any child (big and little alike!). The Millipede cabinet was damn gorgeous, all of your cabinets looked wonderful to me.
Looks great! I try to keep the games that I enjoy and other people will actually play. Rare stuff is cool to collect but if it’s not fun to you or your guests then not really for me. You have a good mix of great raster games and vectors - Battlezone is awesome
@@vintagerefresh you get it. I’ve had the opportunity to get rare gems like bronze age stuff and super obscure Universal games but like…what’s the point? There’s a reason the more popular stuff was more popular…it made money and people played and liked playing the games! 🤷🏼♂️
