Great video and great riding. I think the tyres are Karoo 3 and they appear to work well and seemingly give you confidence in these types of conditions.
Glorious! I just watched some pro reviewer saying this bike was a horrible off-road machine. Thanks for showing what a capable bike it is in the hands of the right rider.
I have the mic just in front of my mouth, like the placement of an intercom mic. The helhet is a Schuberth C3 Pro, so it's pretty sealed from outside windnoise
@@Urkain87 Thanks fo the reply! I also have the C3 Pro, but I can't manage to get a good exhaust sound. It is very quiet compared to what you are getting
I have exact same bike, what I’m missing is your confidence, great video 👍great example of what you can do with off/on road tyres, I think mine are Mitas and their a great compromise
I bought a 2021 UGS to do exactly this kind of riding....most you tubers dismiss this bike as capable and Roar Lorentsen proves the bike, in stock form, is more than capable...of course Roar is a skilled rider but this is so reassuring!!! I knew my choice was a good one! Thank you!
@@Urkain87 I’ve been looking at these as a more reliable alternative to something like a Motto Guzzi V85 or an Enfield Himalayan to build out into a classic adv bike, I mostly ride gravel forest roads like what you were on. Most rides consist of about 60 miles of gravel/dirt and 140 miles of curvy tarmac. You think this would do that well?
Its ok for the slow offroad. For highspeed offroading the suspension needs an uppgrade. For most riders i belive its good enough for regular speeds. And, its good on the asfalt! Its got a nice and stable handling setup. Its also low seathight, so its easy when you are going slow in the "rough stuff".
Thank you Finally somebody with some balls ridding a gs urban . thinking of getting one love the boxers . gs 1200 but too much cash . got a 06 1200 gs. Love it .
Great video. Thank you. I owned R9T '14, but could hardly even think about leaving asphalt. It was literally pain in the ass just to ride on bumpy paved country roads, not speaking about riding deep in the forests.. Now that is a perfect candidate for a low range holiday ride.
