hi mate i fish the river nene near northampton similar width as the on in the video whats the best way to cast aand where to cast and whats the best lures to use
Hi mate. Depends on so many factors. I cast up the margins first then cast out into the centre and to the far banks. Lures could be anything depends on what your fishing for buddy. All the lures in my videos work well for me but might not work for someone else. Thanks for the comment buddy.
@@lukerankin5197 you can buy a day ticket. We didn’t see the bailiff on the first session but we saw him on the second session. Think it was £4 maybe £5 I can’t quite remember. Good luck mate 👍👍
I always fish singles for trout and barbless too . I lose more fish than I land (usually the smaller ones ) but as I put them all back in anyway saves the bother of unhooking :)
I’ve had almost all my trout out of the River Dearne buddy. From Mapplewell through to Darton. Seems to be a good spot for them. Can be hard fishing but worth a shot 👍
Hi John. Yes certainly it’s very handy with the lure boxes that come with it and the different compartmentation. It’s got plenty of zip pockets, plier holders on the site and Velcro rod straps. It’s also got a clip on net holder so it covers pretty much all bases. I think it was around £80 but I struggled to find one anywhere. Mine was from Fishing Republic. Hope that helps John 👍
Hi that's my local river it's been that hight since before Christmas with all the flood water coming down your day turned out OK in the end I'm going to take a look at you other videos did you see any body else fishing while you was there good video
I caught 2 pike on Christmas Day with a lure in each of their mouths with no wire traces on them. I'm guessing the idiots who lost these magnificent and dwindling fish learnt that way of fishing from you. JUST PUT A TRACE ON the pike don't know your lures are for perch only
Bit harsh Rob. 99% of the videos from other anglers (many sponsored and professional) on youtube are fishing with fluorocarbon leaders. I’ve seen many who fish with maggot and worm with no trace also hook up Pike so I would hardly say I’m the one to blame for every lure found in a fishes mouth. I’ll happily take criticism but no need to be rude about it 👍
Hi Alfred! It’s on one of the short videos I did. 5g Ned Jig with a Savage Gear Craw. Open jig not weedless. Tied to mainline mono with improved clinch knot. If you can’t find the short video let me know. I’ll be doing a short video in the future about my normal techniques used for the rigs I fish with 🙏👌
@@TandTFishing It is also worth noting that despite the trend in lure fishing of holding perch by their mouth, this is one of the DO NOTs in fish safety. The jaws on perch are quite soft, so if you hold it by the mouth and it kicks or flips, it can easily damage the fish and dislocate or break the jawbones.i wasnt being a smart arseits just a no no in perch fishing
I don’t run wire trace on my ultra light set up normally as I’m targeting Perch. I somehow always manage to catch a pike on it though 😂 luckily I’ve never had one bite off. I do always run a wire trace on my medium set up with the bigger lures though.
When using lures for perch where anglers know fine well there are pike all RESPONSIBLE anglers should use a trace. The kids and beginners that see these videos learn from them
Nice 👍 I too had many blank sessions, I went out on our local canal on the 1st of Jan at very first light and managed to finally bag a jack smaller to yours, I was so chuffed! 😁
Well done thats a great Perch, lovely fish, and from the Canal, good on you mate, close to my pb 2.14 lbs, the smile says it all, and thats what fishing is all about.
Thanks Dave! Quite a few of my Pike are on the Calder River in Wakey but this is defo a hot spot for Perch. We might see you around! Happy fishing buddy!
