I belong to a remote Village in North-East India. I'm the first girl to do an MSc I always wanted to pursue a PhD but due to financial issues. I got really demotivated during my MSc College days. When I look around everyone is already settled in their life doing good. I cried while watching this video. Currently, I'm taking my time to figure things out.
As far as I can see, it always splits, divide on the opposite axis. If it was vertical, the next one will be horizontal, and so on. These are the spectacular "yang" (urn moru) expansions. But what is not visible is the yin (siku) contraction. While yang (lime green) is expanding along one axis, there is a yin process going on along the axis perpendicular to it that is not visible

If I applied for a particular research area and OIST don't have research focus in that area, will I be offered the admission and be given other options to choose from them?
This is a fascinating talk but he doesn't mention noncommutativity! The very beginning gets off to the wrong start by wrongly assuming music theory as based on commutative harmonic ratios.
