Darn. I wish YT had the option of adding a photo. We just cut a rectangle area out of the front panel, emptied the drain/filter, and made a cover for it. No need for a new washer!
You're a good man, Ray, to tackle this job! We've decided to just replace our washing machine with a new washer with an easy-access drain and filter! It's time. I think we've had this Whirpool Duet washer for 10 or 11 years.
@@mjshuja9091 I used to have an electrostatic filter on that unit which apparently do not filter very well I switched to 4” pleated filters after this and never had an issue like this again
A few things contributed to that. First was that the system had an electrostatic filtration system, which apparently did not filter as well as purported. Then - I had a woodshop in the basement garage, a household full of children, and a major shedding dog. Soon after this I replaced the electrostatic filters with 4" pleated filters and I never had another issue like this.
I found a way to do this in a few minutes. Lay it on the side and remove the front panel bottom screws. The panel pulls out enough to remove the drain plug. Easy peasey.

Another satisfied viewer, bless you and thank you……frankly I should have done this years ago, but your video nailed it! U tube helpers are today’s Angels!
I really wish I could remember for you, but this was just one of too many problems I had with this thing. The eventual 'fix' was to trade it in on a use Honda Pilot three years ago. The only regret I have is every buying this van to begin with. Maybe I just got a lemon. Hondas are more $ upfront but should be less $ per mile when you factor how many reliable miles you should get out of one compared to Chrysler product. Good luck!
Great video! I had the same issue with the top rack not cleaning. I have a new model unit but following your dissemble instructions I was able to remove the internal parts and clean the inside and around the food chopper. Now I'm just awaiting the cycle to finish and put everything back together with fingers crossed.
I'm sorry, but as happens with all things, this washer eventually became ... replaceable ... and I don't have it any longer to look at the exact model number for you.
Hi there! We are having someone resurfacing our floors, he only uses oil-based finishes. We chose classic seal and traffic hd, apart from bona's specifications, should we be worried if he never used the products? He has 30+ years of experience. Also, how are your kitchen floors after all that time? Thank you
I really can't speak to the experience of someone I don't know, but if he has 30 years of real experience doing floors it would seem that you shouldn't have much to worry about. Bona Traffic will still scratch like any finish, but it wears/lasts longer than the more basic finishes. Think pigment in paint. Paints like those sold at Sherwin Williams have more pigment, so they cover better and wear longer. Some goes for floor finishes. Traffic has more particulate to it that gives it more durability. This means that with something like traffic, theoretically, you should be able to go longer between recoats of finish on the floor- depending on how hard you are on those floors. Hope that's helpful enough for you.
!!!!! You can just take the back off and reach in - NO need to take the whole thing apart - There is enough room to remove the filter took about 20 minutes !!!!!!
That depends on the model washer and the length of ones arm to the wrist (leaving the length of the hand to reach around). My model washer is 24" deep and that basket was pretty close to the front of the washer. I would not have had the clearance to remove the coin basket if I could have reached it as you say. But let's say there was room to pull out that catch/coin basket. My arm length from wrist to chest is about 21 inches max. I would have to lay down on the floor with my chest and head against the machine, and reach in around all of the other components. It might work for some people, like a gorilla with skinny arms, but even I have long and lanky arms compared to average and I couldn't do that with my machine. You must have a different machine and/or arms longer and more lanky than mine (no offense).

I think this is a lot of work for something that you need to do for maintenance. I know my dad would do this once and he'd end up drilling a hole in the front to match up with the catch basket.
Exactly. That's what I did the next time I had to clean the stupid thing. There should have been s short panel at the bottom that one could just pop off to get in there rather than have to remove the entire front panel.
My wife was seconds from buying a new dishwasher online to replace our 15 year old Kenmore that wasn’t washing the top rack. I said give me a few minutes to watch this video, and an hour later, after cleaning the screen as you demonstrated, it’s working and we saved many $$$. Thank you!
Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I ru-vid.comUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
I don't even have a problem with my dishwasher at the moment, but I thought I would watch for future reference. One of the problems I had with mine was that plastic water transfer tube to the top two sprayers you talk about at 10:16. It had come loose from back wall/top interior wall and, consequently, wore out the the lower seal, just by sliding top rack in & out when transfer tube wasn't at a true 90. My Scottish fix was to change rack height and warn spouse not to change it....ever. It's been 3 yrs. Do you suppose one could even buy replacement parts in 2023?
There are a plethora of places on-line that sell parts. Don't give up with your first search. You might have to look well beyond page one of a google search. Also, use other search engines besides google as they all have different algorithms to generate search results. Good luck!
Thank you! So happy I found this video. It appears to have solved my problem. The step by step allowed me, a not so handy or mechanically minded person, to fix it myself, put it back together (ha) and save $$!
Ive taken my ac apart about 20 times this month, for whatever reason water drops builds up on the walls where ac condenser is sitting at and when dripping down completly misses the pan. Any1 have any suggestions?
@@vladimirm9521 Well maybe not. It might depend on the needs of your system/area. At any rate, I'm not an HVAC expert but evidently you have humidity where you shouldn't. Maybe the AC is not removing enough of it. Maybe the cabinet needs to be insulated. I would schedule service if that happened to me.
