Hmmm, from what I’ve seen the green looks nice but I haven’t seen that color in person. One possible thought: the green color on a green while putting may not have as much contrast. Splitting hairs possibly, but just a thought. I do like the cappuccino color and how it frames the ball, personally. Thx for watching and commenting, sincerely!
I used several DF 2.1’s, and have tried 2 different DF3’s. Only 1 of them had a shaft upgrade, and it was an Accra. Did it give a different feel? Yes. Did it help make more putts? No. I have a hard time believing an exotic putter shaft will help the average recreational golfer make more putts. It will give a different feel, but the truth is we all get used to whatever we’re using after a handful of rounds. Unless I’m getting a great deal, I’m personally not getting the shaft upgrades. They are very expensive! This is just my take and experience, someone else may have a different stance. Hope that helps!
I just wish the the 2.1 had a ball grabber. Its also nice to use the alinment line and the rear ball grabber to make sure you have true alignment to your aimpoint when putting
It is kinda odd a putter that big and with that design doesn’t have an easy scoop (DF 2.1)….but the smaller df3 does. Extreme designs, but they give a great roll! Thx for watching and commenting!
Interesting!! I can’t say I noticed a difference in size between the 2 models. It may be worth an inquiry to their customer service, they are pretty responsive in general. Thx for watching and commenting!
Facts. Sometimes putters that look and feel good to you cost a lot of money though. Paid $150 for my used Kombi and it’s absolutely perfect for me. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.
Great to hear!! I’ve really enjoyed it…super easy setup, superb battery life, and just really really easy set and go. Thx for watching and commenting, I sincerely appreciate it!
I am 65, learning how to play golf again. I went to various goodwills in North Carolina and I have gotten some name brand clubs such as callaway x14. My bag consist of 7w, 7i, SW, chipper and putter. Could not be happier
Wow, that is great to hear!! Really appreciate you watching and commenting! You have validated it doesn’t take gobs of bucks to put a bag together and enjoy some golf :) .
@@RodDandyGolf also, to save even more money, once you find the clubs you like. Learn how to regrip them yourself, there are a lot YT videos on this. Hit’em straight
3 years ago I did a remote fitting for the DF2.1. The Torque free and lie angle balancing def. works, i just couldn't get over the huge size of it and wound up selling it. Ironically, last July i custom ordered the Limited edition Jailbird Versa 380 at 38 inches. I brought to 2ndSwing in DE and had it cut it down to 35.75 in and installed a 50 gr. plug weight into the butt end wrapped with 2-3 strips of lead tape, this is very heavy at 695 gr. I have a slight arcing backstroke, and coupled with a face balanced putter i think this is causing my short putts are getting pulled left. Its great on long lag putts over 10 ft. or more. This DF3 has really caught my attention since its much smaller than the DF2.1 I just did a remote fitting, got my specs and custom ordered a counterbalanced, 36 in, heavier head, 72 deg. lie angle with a 17 in Superstroke grip. Excited for it to arrive.
Wow, I’m impressed at the tinkering! Thx for watching and commenting, greatly! I tried a counter balanced at a golf shop once, and thought it felt solid, but have never bought one. I’d be very curious on your experience with the counterbalanced DF3. Best wishes, always fun to get and try new stuff!
@@RodDandyGolf I’ll definitely report back. Custom builds take much longer I think 5-6 weeks. I was very impressed by their remote fitters. He got back to me in 2 days. He Recommended 36 inches if go counterbalanced and 33 inches for standard. This is in line with my current Jailbird 380 at 35.75 inches. Lie angle at 72 degrees is slighty more upright than my jailbird at 70 deg. I remember how easily it was to putt with the DF2.1. It was Very smooth and zero torque, the head doesn’t fight you. It goes where you point it.
Finally! Thank you, massive money saver, simplicity, less confusion about what club to use when! You do not need a full set to start golfing. Club makers need to make sets like this, every second iron would be great with a forgiving driver and a simple putter.
I greatly appreciate you watching and commenting!! Glad to hear it resonated…golf is expensive to begin with, it’s good to start out nice and inexpensive and just give oneself time to figure it out.
I guess with low expectations and still a poor shot, it saves oneself from further angst and destroying your mindset over the next several holes….nearly everyone, no matter their level, always has at least 1 shot per round that a Tour player would hit no better. Agreed, those keep you coming back!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thx for watching and commenting! What would be your suggestion? That someone who has never played golf go get a 14 club set and learn every shot with every club?
I greatly appreciate you watching and commenting on this! I can vouch for all 4….have used them for a long time, and have washed them/air dried them multiple times :) .
This is a good video. I started out (decades ago) with 5, 7, 9 irons, a P wedge and a putter. Shot in the mid 80s with those. Didn't start losing golf balls till I added woods to the mix. At almost 70 now I play the last month of every season with only 3 or 4 clubs, usually a 7 wood, 7 iron, P wedge and a putter. The P wedge works fine out of the sand when the objective is to just get it in the green.
These are great comments, and I appreciate your kind words!! I LOVE your idea of playing the portion of a season with a “limited” bag, opens up the imagination and creativity! Thx so much for watching and commenting, I sincerely appreciate it!
Thank you for your review. Considering only this brand. I suppose I like the look of the quality. Have you used a lessor quality and have a general view of the differences?
I do not have any hands on experience with a different brand…I shopped around and settled on this one, and was happy from the get go. Still using it now, and still loving it. Thx for watching and commenting, sincerely!
I tried it out for a bit (liked it!), but then traded it in during the Callaway 2x trade in bonus program, towards another purchase. I was quite pleased with the “value” condition, and will not hesitate to buy again in that grade from Global Golf. Thx for watching and commenting!
A fair point! I think when just starting, splashing out with an open face PW is something that can work, until more proficiency is reached. Thx for watching and commenting, sincerely!
It was such a great experience…the man emerged out of nowhere, and I thought let’s just have this gentleman demonstrate the simplicity of these concepts, it was so cool to see play out!! Thx for watching and commenting!!
I tend to agree with you! I just noticed on a golf broadcast this past weekend the newer Odyssey Jailbird with the black/white stripe, and thought that’s certainly not very “normal” looking. Thx for watching and commenting, greatly appreciate it!
how come you fast forward your actual swing on the ball? I think most of us would be interested in seeing how it comes off the club and the sound and everything that has to do with a swing...
Thx for watching and commenting!! I just evaluated that tonight! Video forthcoming on my experience. For me, it was similar….prob not needle moving enough for the $$, honestly. Cool to try though!
$450. Callaway Mini-driver lased one season and fetches a premium second hand now. I suggest learning to hit a conventional driver and use a 5 wood in the fairway. You won't expect too much from the 5 wood and will probably swing more smoothly and get a better strike.
Thx much for watching and commenting!! I tend to agree with you!! I’ve enjoyed a 5 wood back in the bag…the prices of these “mini drivers” are a bit nuts. The golf companies are very good at making people get a bad case of the “gotta have its” :) .
Thx for watching and commenting!! That one ended up being around $70 after all taxes/shipping. Sometimes they have some selected preowned with additional discounts, on top of the existing promo. I just looked real quick and they have a Tour Chrome SM9 K grind for $71.99, and that’s before the 20% “freedom” current promotion. I was happy with the value condition, honestly was expecting worse. I’ll be doing another video on a “value” 3 wood, curious to see what kind of shape it’s actually in.
Just a thought, I think you are putting a lot of pressure on that left forearm with such a quick tempo and heavy shaft. I think a golf instructor could help you get to a better position that may reduce some pain
I have the TGI 80 in my 3 and 4 hybrids and they were my favorite clubs. Love the smooth controlled feel of that shaft. Was very interested to get it into irons but it is mostly an upcharge shaft. Just got fit for Mizunos (they don’t offer tgi, they have KBS PGI) so I went with MMT 85. The 105 was a lower ball flight. I have a shorter back swing as well but smoother tempo than yourself. Was interested in graphite due to lower back pain
Thx for watching and commenting, greatly! That is awesome feedback. I have liked the MMT shafts, they are solid. I truly had never given graphite in irons the time of day….but I’ve been very pleased, performance is great, and they are easier on the body!
Thx for watching and commenting! This one was “standard weight”, indeed! I’m very curious to try a “heavier” weight on the DF3…but I was surprised to hear that at max they can add 15-20 grams….doesn’t seem like much, no doubt it would give it a little different feel, but most everyone gets used to whatever they are using after a short acclimation period.
