I’m Michele Neskey, aka The Posh PA. Welcome to my channel! My mission is is to provide personalized guidance, education and motivation to build confidence and promote wellness for aspiring physician assistants and beyond.

Having been a PA for 17+ years and helped hundreds of students gain acceptance into PA school, I understand the admissions process. I know what they are looking for, and I can help you tailor every component to make you shine, giving you the BEST chance of getting accepted to a program. But it doesn't end there. I create personalized plans for PA students and practicing PAs including test-taking strategy for the PANCE, contract negotiations, and tools to overcome and prevent provider burnout.

My goal is to get you into PA school & survive the rigorous program, help you prevent burnout as a practicing PA, and help you take care of yourself so you can be the best version of YOU for your patients, family, and most importantly YOU!

Love these videos! I have an MMI interview in a couple weeks, second interview this cycle. Felt anxious/depressed after being rejected for the first one but these videos have given me more confidence. My question for a male is beard or no beard?

Thank you so much for sharing such great insight! I'm currently in PA school and just chose oncology as one of my electives for clinical year. This video was so helpful and I really look forward to my rotation.

This is so true! Im a surgical technologist looking into becoming a surgical PA and i wouldnt be able to at my hospital because of the residents that are there. We only have 1 fa on top of that because of residents. But i love that the PAs get more patient interaction and involvement than just a fa!

FNP for 30 years, RN for 50. I've worked in Infertility, Urgent Care, Geriatrics, Palliative Care, Pharmaceutical Research, Internal Medicine, Gynecology, GI, and a Women and Children shelter and lastly ran an outpatient covid + clinic for individuals at high risk for death/ ICU. It is really not true that you cannot switch your focus. I also suture and perform procedures. In 15 minutes, neither of us has time to be "holistic" when prescribing HTN medications. We all follow the same principles, ie, no beta blockers for severe asthmatics, IDDM, etc. My friend is a PA and her undergrad is in Psychology. Given that I worked in Boston hospitals for 11 years before NP school, I already understood the "medical models" of illnesses, how to read EKGs and rhythms, medications, their uses, contraindications and side effects, how to perform a neuro exam, and heart and lung sounds. Things may be different now. The proof is in the pudding when you graduate. I'm happy to say that I retired as an NP this year and happily work in summer camps as a happy camper RN if I fell like it.

Hi! I have a bachelor's in biotechnology and am willing to enter the PA program. However, PA programs require certain preclinical hours as their admission requirements. The point is I don't have any! Is there any chance I can enter into PA program?

There is a limited number of schools that dont require patient care hours but you could try to apply to those schools.

Is there any such thing as becoming a NP and a PA have a half and half mix of both professions? Because there are very big likes and dislikes to both . I want as much knowledge into both backgrounds because both are needed just as much as the other .

This resonates with me so much as CHIEF CRNA and RN for 3 decades! All the things that you explained is exactly what I felt that resulted in my resignation . Now I am looking for a way to coach aspiring Crna’s navigate their way into CRNA school.

One thing I hate about admissions for PA is that prerequisites are so vastly different depending on schools. Some do not even take prerequisites from community college.

The oncology practice I go to has an ACNP, Oncology Nurse Practitioner, two Oncology PA-C’s, a MD oncologist and a DO/MBA I have treatment every three weeks; I see the Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and oncologist in rotation - if there’s something the Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants see outside their purview, they bring in the MD oncologist

Overall good video. One significant difference noted was incorrect. Not all Nurse Practitioners work under the supervision of a Physician. In many states, and progressively more every year NPs have autonomous practice as governed by their respective state.
@RandR60
@RandR60 23 дня назад
And actually, NPs were not 'supervised' by physicians, they have a 'collaborating' physician in some states. Many, if not most, no longer have that requirement.

i flatly refuse to see these 90 day wonders, physician assistance got all there debt excused and only go to school for 4 to 6 months and know nothing about medicine. i have seen p/a s playing games on there phones and ignoring the standing room only waiting rooms. i have been in ers where the p/as were bragging about how they cant wait for there shift to be over so they can get drunk and "get a piece of ass at that party. "another one was trying to get out early to go to a monster truck show. they had no concern for the sick people begging for care. we have had here in the usa a 30% increase death rate , not from covid, because of these no knowing do nothing physician assistants. they are causing more suffering and death than getting no medical care at all. they are trying to push there way into doing surgery and other major care and tests when all they do is watch a few podcasts and sign into online courses and then go lay on the couch and sleep or drink a few beers and then claim they are qualified to do whatever they want. even doctors and the ama are getting concerned about these unqualified physician assistants. i will never trust them. i have seen the death and suffering they have caused.
