Absinthe Films is on the forefront of todays snowboarding. Some of the worlds best riders star every year in the Absinthe movies and push the sport to the next level.
I moved to Salt Lake in Sept '92 and have had a pass at Brighton ever since. I remember the first year or two that they had a terrain park, I had just learned bacside 5's off a side hit and wanted to take it to the park jumps but kept psyching myself out. Rolled into the top of the jumps next to a super cute blondie getting ready to drop in and thought, "Aw precious, she's gonna try and clear this". She rolls in and busts the smoothest bacside 5 indy I had seen in person to that point...turns out it was Shannon Dunn. Inspired me to finally do one (not that run, i was completely shook!), and taught me to never underestimate people on the mountain!
My best friend came from two folks who worked and created the brighton culture you saw here. They've passed and their son is a world class human and boarder. This is really amazing to watch, thank you!
I grew up in southern Utah and remember watching all of the Mack Dawg videos and just dreaming of going to salt lake and riding. Then moving up to SLC and riding Brighton and PC and seeing all these pros just killing it around me was so surreal. Love seeing this throwback
WTF is Danny doing now? He's such a good personality. He should review old legendary video parts. Like commentate them or something on youtube. It would be HUGE>
Fortuitously came across this video. I got to know Jamie randomly outside of snowboarding, as his art and music was featured at the bar I worked at. Jamie and the Karabotsos bros. were always together even then. I remember admiring the brotherhood that they had. All of them kind and good natured guys. Jamie is a generational multi-talent, but I know Jamie Lynn as a genuinely good human being.
So stoked!! Andy Brewer was the God of Snowbird, Brighton and wherever the hell he rode! Taught me how to golf. Taught me how to take a GB! He is my man! love that guy!
