If a movie is made accurately according to history, it becomes a historical documentary. However, a movie must necessarily be entertaining. All movies exaggerate a little to be entertaining. Because if a movie is not entertaining, it becomes boring and you fall asleep without realizing it.😁😄
It was the first major war in 300 years since the founding of the country. Joseon maintained peace for 300 years without war, but Japan unified the country internally and attacked the Japanese army, which had accumulated experience in war, so the Joseon army continued to lose. From China's perspective, if Joseon was breached, the Japanese army would enter the Chinese mainland, so they supported Joseon.
Now, let's look at historical facts. The total strength of the Japanese army at that time was 600,000 soldiers, and only a portion of them were sent to the small country of Korea. Approximately 150,000 Japanese troops captured Seoul in three weeks, and most of the cities, including Pyongyang, in two months, even though they were across the ocean, and captured the Korean prince. The pitiful king of China's vassal state ran away from the Japanese army in tears and sought help from his suzerain, his great father, the Ming Dynasty. This war was a battle between Japan, which had an emperor, and China, which had an emperor, and the small countries merely provided a stage for the great powers to dance
"gyeok gyeok gek gok" is what these korean actors sounds when they speak old japanese. they should've hired japanese actors to cast japanese characters.
Cool naming for each nation I see you have based it off cultural aspects of the civilisation they represent For example tengri is a mongolic steppe religion And Argos is a city in Greece
This is what is written about this war in ``明史'' which compiled the history of the Ming Dynasty. (During the seven-year war in Korea, hundreds of thousands of soldiers and millions of war expenses were lost, and China and its vassal country (Korea) had no chance of victory, but with the death of Kanpaku (Hideyoshi), the war ravages began to end. ) 朝鮮王李昖棄城奔平壌、又奔義州、遣使絡繹告急。倭遂入王京、執其王妃、王子、追奔至平壌、放兵淫掠。 (The capital of Joseon quickly fell, and the King of Joseon fled.) 『明史』王徳完伝 : 寧夏用兵、費八十余万、朝鮮之役七百八十余万、播州之役二百余万 (Ningxia spent over 800,000 yuan on its army, over 7.8 million yuan on the Korean War, and over 2 million yuan on the Bozhou campaign.) No this movie isn't fantasy the only inaccurate part is turtle ship being in the battle and Deng zilong death. Deng zilong had a explosion accident but wasn't in the film

We know that Yi Sun-sin, who is considered as a Korean hero, was captured and tortured to death by Shimazu of Japan. I always wonder why this fact is not depicted. As a UK citizen living in Japan, objectively speaking, Korea was not victorious over the Japanese forces. Japan just couldn't beat the great army of Ming Dynasty, China at that time.

This looks fun... the actual battle with slow reloads, slow ships (even if the korean ships were famed for maneuverability, it is relative), and stretched out over hours would make for poorer cinema. That said, from what I've read, the heaviest chongtong cannons would have had a poor range of 200 meters. For great cinematic volleys they'd have to use the 1000 meter ranged hwangja, but those are little boys better served killing men then sinking ships (so quickly and dramatically) even the shoddily made Japanese ships of this time period. Now, if any of those ships had been hit by a broadside of big ol' Spanish 50 pounders, 10x the weight of a cheonja, yes, you'd get that kind of instant devastation. Always funny, reflecting on this war, just how bad the Japanese were at sea. Then they totally overcompensated after the Meiji Restoration, making a compete 180 In scale and spirit this is so nice to see, at least trying to be faithful. Then look at the garbage from like Rings of Power with an order of magnitude more budget and an order of magnitude less heart and soul.

total strength of the Japanese army at that time was over 500,000, and 150,000 were sent to Korea. Don't lose sight of the fact that a third of the total military force captured Seoul in three weeks and most of the cities, including Pyongyang, in two months. In this war, Korea was only a supporting player, and only Japan and China fought mainly. Korea was weak and had entrusted all authority to China, its suzerain, so it was China that negotiated with Japan, and Korea was refused participation in the negotiations by China, its suzerain.🤣🤣

@@gooksuperuglyggreagregraearegNo one is foolish enough to send all their troops at first. After the first advance force of the Japanese army suffered losses, hundreds of thousands of troops were sent again, but half of the Japanese army was annihilated on land and sea. Then, another Japanese army was sent, and more than half of the troops were annihilated.
It is so inspiring seeing this rich world come to live. I would love to read a novel, heck, several novels, written by you in this world! Makes me wonder about all the battles, military conflicts and strategies that have taken place in this world!
I am now more disappointed with the film as it only added a small battle scene, by the way I am angry it was historically inaccurate, especially to this degree, like compare it to the patriot which looks like a documentary (not really but you all get the idea) in comparison, like hey Scott, where the frick is the promised battle of Leipzig scene huh, I know it still would have been absolutely inaccurate but still, another big battle would have been nice to see compared to the whole Josephine subplot, on the contrary however, we only got this and then more... I hate to say it... Josephine (I'm in pain whenever that subplot appears hence why I wished that the battle of Leipzig scene was in this, worthless excuse of a movie), so yeah pretty disappointing there. Oh and I do believe that the battle of Leipzig scene would have been nice to see, like this is the battle catalog (with timers for each of them that we got, The battle of Toulon scene like 5 minutes, the repression of the royalists scene like a minute, is the Egypt scene even considered a battle, the coup like 2 minutes, Marengo is like 30 seconds, Austerlitz is like 5 minutes long, the invasion of Russia is like 5 to 6 minutes long, Leipzig... as a wise Frenchman from the Patriot said "Perhaps we will never know", "Waterloo", (like what even is this by the way) is like 7 to 8 minutes long. Waterloo, Austerlitz and Toulon were like the only real battle scenes to be honest.
Where are the formations? Napoleons army was famous for two things, his grand battery and large assault columns both of which would bludgeon the enemy into submission. Why is Napoleon leading multiple cavalry charges in this film? This film was hot garbage
