Tom Mboya was too smart for them, with powerful friends such as Martin Luther king, J F Kennedy, to mention but a few . Being envious like cowardly Cain, they rose against him and killed him.
Yet all those leading "freedom fighters" when they got a chance to go to study in the white oppressor's land, wound up taking wives from among their colonial oppressors. SMH. Self-hating "freedom fighters". How many white settlers married local women?
Tom Mboya thought believed that he wasn’t a ja’Luo.And off cause he wasn’t. His hatred for both Argwings and Jaramogi clouded his thinking and was made worse by his myopic belief that the West would make him president. It cost him his life
Thanks for the video! This was definitely not part of my History curriculum in high school. I think a fact based report of the Lari Massacre should be taught to Kenyan children, including why the Mau Mau came about (hint British annexation of fertile Kikuyu land)
It could be because of your narrow education. The Lari massacre was a real incident that took place. Explaining how and why Mau Mau came about is a different discussion.
@@georgeodhiambo598 Pardon me, do you mean the narrow curriculum provided by the Ministry Of Education of the Kenya government? I did not dispute the occurrence of the Lari massacre.
@@paulandrew8056Have you ever heard of the concept of the person who bears the highest criminal responsibility? If it was not Kenyatta who masterminded their killings, then what did he do after the killings? Kenyatta did nothing about those killed under his regime because he was the mastermind. He killed them.
Must have been very sad for the family, friends and the Kenyan nation. The video has evoked sad emotions in me though it was more than 11 years before I was born🥲
34 minutes of worthiness thanks Levin very sad history...leaves you wonderind and sking yourself ...What If Mboya had survived to the transitional periods
I was just a small boy then, but all things surrounding Mboyas death always brought a dark sad shadow in our house, and good moods changed instantly to one of quiet sadness.
There seem to have been a systematic plan to eliminate all luo kingpins. Or those who were perceived to be a threat to the establishment. A trend which continued into the 90s with the death of Ouko.
Nice. And in colour. Levin, there is a certain book publication by the very first US ambassador to Kenya-Mr William Atwood, it is called something like "The reds and the blacks," Have you ever come across or even read it? Apparently it had been banned by Jomo's government at the time for being seemingly "too controversial." I swear at *2:00* that must be Charles Rubia. At *2:49* is the man who basically was the organizing brains behind this entire event.
