Absolutely love Didier but the stats here are all wrong. Dids scored 16 goals in all comps in both his first 2 seasons at stamfors bridge, winning back to back leagues. It was his 3rd season when he hit 30+ plus but sadly united pipped us to the title. Not that it mattered because Drogba became the big game player that we know and love in the next few years, culminating in his legendary run in the 2012 champions league. He also wasn't a fan favourite in his forst 2 years because he dived a lot but once it clicked there was no turning back. Goes to show patience can pay off. The question wasn’t who is more popular. Drogba isn’t a bigger legend than shrek as much as it kills me to say it. Rooney outscored drogba at a far bigger club and a far bigger footballing country and he was just a far better all round player. Rooney is the bigger legend and better player. Drogba more clutch and popular worldwide.
My Two brothers and myself are Chelsea fans. My Father said it's not healthy for all the boys in a Family to be supporting the same team. He claimed to be a Man U fan and that he has always been before we were born. He hoped one of us would join him there. But in 2012, Drogba's exploit against Napoli, and Later Bayern in the Final turned him into a Chelsea fan. We enjoyed Chelsea for years after that including Hazard years. Rest in Peace Daddy

He staid 1 season in Marseille, not 2 seasons (despite his stats : 32 goals, 55 games). But what a season, maybe the best of his career. We had a weak team. He played many games and scored many goals especially during great games in ucl (Porto, Madrid) than until the europa league final (against Liverpool, Inter, Newcastle) One season was enough to keep Drogba in each Marseille's fan memory. He hold the team along the season, playing alone as a target man. He had pace and stamina. He was strong and could keep the and score wonderful goals in every position. A beast.
