Great video! It is good to see my Irish brothers wearing kilts. It shows great pride, dignity and joy for the Irish culture. Keep wearing your kilts. I am very proud of you.
Yes, John Carey is an amazing choreographer, I'll give you that much. Also, you guys placed fifth, and they placed 1st at the Worlds, so they were obviously better. And you are probably just being biast.
@IrishDancingBabe94 It wouldnt be any average music. For a team such as this they would go into a studio with a band and make up a tune to go with the dance!
@Manutdcailin No, it was done three weeks before the Worlds. Figure (or drama) teams do not have to qualify for the Worlds, it is teacher's discretion. No figure competition at the Ulsters.
@GraNaRince28 It would have been done 3 weeks before Ulsters (if it was done in 3 weeks) because they would have had to qualify . . . That means they would have had time to get it up to this standard between the Ulsters and Worlds!!
@amossio the rules state that the entire team cannot be stationary for too long (not sure how many bars that is). Doesn't mean that part of the team cannot be stationary. Do people honestly think the judges are that stupid?! There's no problem with walking or marching either as these movements appear in ceili dances - namely, Bridge of Athlone and Waves of Tory. Rumour has it the entire figure was put together in only 3 weeks. Love to see anyone else try that.
why are you all judging them gosh im sure their better then you to be honest as long as they enjoyed it then thats all that matters and if you dont have anything good to say then dont comment simple as!!!! i thought it was enjoyable and kool
as soon as i watched this it was added to my favourites list withought hesitation, probably one of the BEST senior figures i have ever seen, well done you guys xx
wow, it's clear why they won-- those figures are amazing! and such precision! and they have equal boys and girls, which is even better. I was at Worlds last year, actually, but didn't get a chance to watch figure or choreography, unfortunately. Thanks for posting!
This Academy still dance the same thing. In 2022 all movements and the music are identical. And there are several sets (different age categories and girks/mixed) from the academy with this dance routine. No changes, nothing new and interesting. They are like robots doing all the same for many years. In 2010 I liked to watch this dance (also live on Oireachtas, when filmed). This year I found this boring at the Worlds...
@telekinet3 because you really have to take a winning figure display seriously. its better you do something that is simple, effective and done well then complex, effective but done like shit
@uwillneverfixme It really was!!! here they seem to be more on the loose and tired, less accurate. the first time the figures were top-notch and the drive was so strong that the audience started screaming after the second munite!! well deserved 1st place, did not doubt it! carey academy which placed second was brilliant too! thanks to all the teachers and dancers! surely mixed figure is the most impressive and beautiful competition :)) especially with the kilts ;)
I thought this was good when it first started but it turns out that it’s the usual shitshow you get from “Irish Dancing” these days. Pans People eat your heart out! What a crock of shit!
Well they must have danced it amazingly during the actual competition because the actual figure is disgusting. That is the most simple and undeserving choreography I have seen lately.
