posiblemente el mejor batería de todos los tiempos, el video oficial que tiene en Bomber y por supuesto el Overkill con ese double kick totalmente demencial del 79 es una obra maestra
+Sound Blast It's a very famous quote. Just google 'john bonham on barriemore barlow' and you'll see what I mean. The fact is, Bonham was absolutely correct.
+Sound Blast I love Bonham! The man's a legend. I also love Barlow's drumming. He had it all; invention, taste, power, precision, technique, feel, versatility. He was head and shoulders above his peers yet he's the drummer from the 70s 'prog rock' era that gets consistently overlooked. Rhythm magazine recently published its '100 Drum Heroes' issue, and Barrie Barlow wasn't even mentioned, which is an appalling omission.
Spot on. Those two pieces hung on Barlow's performance (IMO). A fantastic percusssionist as well. I wouldn't have wanted to hear Barlow doing Zep, but then neither did he.
All tough calls and Barriemore was ridiculously incredible though I'm hard pressed to put many rock drummers up to Caesar Zuiderwijk of Golden Earring. If you can find his solo from Don Kirshner's during Radar Love here online you will see what I mean. Barriemore is right up there.
I saw Golden Earring open for Rush, 2/21/1983. I was a big fan of Neil Peart's drumming. That night, I thought Rush was the second best band that played.
@@kurtkensson2059 saw Barrie as well with Tull.. his playing was and is still mind boggling. You got love Clive Bunker though..both unique in their own right and both worked well with Ian. I posted back stage footage of Golden Earring (flew to Holland to meet the band) almost 20 years ago to the day on my channel (if interested). George is in said shape currently.
@hoserintraining 100% total agreement on Valhalla -one of my all time favorite drum parts. Not one beat that didn't belong there - really tasteful stuff

Not enough Barriemore Barlow drumming on youtube. One of the greatest rock drummers EVER, and NO VIDEOS?? He is definitely the greatest (relatively) UNKNOWN and underrated drummer of all time. I heard he's retired in England, livin' the life. I hope he decides to UNretire.....soon.
