Regardless of anything else, they make some great knives. One of my favorite designers. If you don't care for the Summitt, let me know. I might be interested in it.
As far as I know, Katsu manufactures their own knives. If you take a close look at the fit & finish of their knives compared to any Reate manufactured knife, you can see that it's not quite up to par with Reate
For the size of the knife, I do wish the liners were a little thicker, but I haven't had an issue and I wouldn't imagine there would be one unless you were really brutal with it.
When these came out, Quartermaster was claiming 154cm on alot of their knives. I believe that is what this one is suppose to be. But because of their Shady practices, it's hard to say. I haven't found where anyone has done a steel test on their knives. It's too bad that they screwed up and went out of business, because I liked alot of their designs.
@@3minuteknives I think they were going for the really fine line milling but it's shit for edc in my opinion. I love the new ram lock stitch and it's been my EDC.
Hey, thanks for watching. I haven't had that experience. To me the clip is pretty solid. It is Titanium so it will get scratched , but it's pretty thick so I don't see it having an issue with bending. But then again, any knife you use on a regular basis so get beat up.
@nomadjedimaster7690 if you're using it, then yes. The good thing about Titanium is that you can sand it with a high grit sandpaper and get rid of all the scratches. 😁
It does look like a potentially very nice knife. Will depend on the pricing too, of course. Do you want to change the knife's name in the title of your video review? Their spelling of the knife is Asgeir. Maybe automated spell-checking produced the "Asgard"?
STAY AWAY from this knife and Ganzo in general, clip broke on first use and support is non-existent. 3 months of emailing them to send a clip or at least a link where I can purchase a clip is unproductive, they ignore their customers.
Thanks for watching. I haven't bought many Ganzo knives, so I can't comment on their customer service, but just liked the look of this one. I didn't end up keeping it only because I constantly rotate knives in and out.
@@3minuteknives The rest of the knife is decent, but after 3 months of practically begging for a replacement to be sent or at least a link to where I could purchase the clip and getting no results I am not purchasing anything else from them and recommend others to stay away from their brand.
It's definitely a collection piece. Very well designed and Reate did an excellent job in the manufacturing. It reminds me of the Chaves Sangre 229, but more refined.
I got mine a week ago and 1st thing I did was tried opening it but the blade is extremely hard to flip open ! I emailed SOG Friday before holiday And have yet to reply. Really well made knife just the lock sticks extremely hard when closed and opening
Yeah, it shouldn't be that difficult to open. I've had a few and they've all been pretty easy to flick open. I have heard that SOG customer service isn't the best. Have you tried just returning for another from the place you bought it?
It is definitely thinner than the drop point or the tanto at the tip. Not so thin that with normal use you'll have issue. If dropped on the tip or if used to pry, the tip will most likely break. I love a good wharncliff though and Chaves did this one right.
@@3minuteknives Ok,I ordered the drop point today. I've never had a Chaves before. If like it I'll might get the warncliffe in full titanium. Thanks for replying back.👍
I love the design as well. This particular one had an issue with the pivot, but I was able to return without an issue and received another one. They're tough to find so that's a decent price.
I didn't even know there was a smaller version. I'll have to check it out. Most likely, they use the same spring as in the bigger version and because it's a smaller blade with less weight, it feels much stronger.
Is been awhile, but no the spring shouldn't rattle. You might try taking it apart again and reassembling. Sometimes just doing that helps. Make sure everything is tight with each screw. Other than that, I'd have to look at it to see what the issue is.
