Jules Pellatt and muso family and friends, messing around with acoustic music recordings at home in the Messy Study.
These are not polished, flawless performances - far from it. But I hope that by uploading these clips I will share some of the music I have loved over the decades, and perhaps some of the guitar insights I've gained over that time. My hands are starting to feel the pain of arthritis; my vocal chords are deteriorating - so I need to make the most of the time still left when I can do these things; hopefully reasonably well, if not perfectly or professionally.
Although I hope to do some split-screen recordings, I believe the greatest challenge is to do a single, live take of guitar and vocals.

@@keiserwill Thanks very much, Will. The key thing in the opening riff is to play the Gm by fretting the 5th string in the 2nd and damping the 6th string simultaneously. Best wishes.

Cat Steven’s music is indelibly ‘marked’ by the amazing inputs of his second guitarist, Alun Davies. We seek to capture that combined sound. Good of you to swing by the channel.

@@neillowy Hello Neil. Thanks very much for your feedback. I think we did about 20 takes before we were satisfied. Doing live recordings with a small gadget poses significant challenges. You only have one chance to get it right! Thanks again from two ageing hippies!
