@@ImperatorFebriges My favourite would be Manuel Komnenos. What's yours? And also what is your opinion on the Great Seljuks and the Magnificent Byzantines during the Crusades?
@@Sultan_Of_Rum Mine is Constantine the Great. The Seljuks, weren't great as they were a Byzantine enemy. The Byzantines were already magnificent as they were the true founders of the Crusades
@@ImperatorFebriges I agree, but for your point on the Seljuks werent as great as the Byzantines, before the crusades, during Sultan Alp Arslan's reign, he mercifully released Romanos Diogenes after the battle of Manzikert but sadly Romanos got blinded by his rival i think when he got back to Constantinople and then got exiled. However, i'd say both empires are great and magnificent 😁
I am a roman historian from canada it seems to me that you have a lot of knowledge about romans i like ur work and if u reply to my comment i will give you a surprise 🇨🇦🇨🇦
О привет мой друг давно не виделись у нас в России ютуб замедляют смотреть будет трудно но через впн пока что смотрю но это не суть. Главное процветания Романийской империи. Аве Рома!
@@ImperatorFebriges I like the Byzantine Empire, but I support polytheistic religion, If the Byzantines worshiped pagan gods it would be better, and you are from India, why don't you follow Hinduism, I support Hinduism, it has more gods
@@tyrannicalgod6064 If you don't know there are also Christians in India. It was not because of the European colonizers. St. Thomas came in the 1st century from Israel to Christianize us. I don't hate Hinduism, but I won't worship it either.
it's a pity that the Eastern Roman Empire did not remain Paganism, if I were emperor I would abolish Orthodox Christianity and establish the worship of Greek and Roman deities.
I know right, and I am pretty sure that account of his physique is false because it was written by some western barbarian called Liutprand because he wanted to make Nicephorus look bad
My verdict: Constantinian Dynasty - Constantine the Great Theodosian Dynasty - Marcian Leonid Dynasty: Anastasius I Justinian Dynasty: Maurice & Justinian I Heraclian Dynasty: Heraclius Isaurian Dynasty: Constantine V Nikephorian Dynasty: Nikephoros I Amorian Dynasty: Theophilos Macedonian Dynasty: Basil II Doukid Dynasty: Romanos IV Komnenid Dynasty: Alexios I Angelos Dynasty: Isaac II Laskarid Dynasty: John III Palaiologan Dynasty: Manuel II
1. Theodosius made Christianity as the official religion of the Roman empire so I would prefer him as the greatest 2. Constantine IV was of the Heraclian dynasty not Justinian dynasty🤣😆😂 3. John II Comnenus conquered more land rather than Alexius so I would prefer John as the greatest 4. Michael VIII restored the Byzantine empire so I would prefer Michael as the greatest
@@ImperatorFebriges 1. Theodosius was defeated in battle by the goths, he didnt "make christianity" the official religion, or atleast it took many genocides of pagans and pointless wars wasting rome's manpower on civil wars, or the fact he put his incompetent sons in power without teaching them a thing about ruling 2. My mistake 3. Ig doing domestic things dont exist? Alexios reconquered land, defeated the Normans, called the crusades, defeating pechenegs and revitalized the economy, literally the only reason john II could do conquests 4. Michael VIII didnt do shit he also blinded the child emperor John IV and Manuel II used cunning diplomacy to re-expand, had he reigned in 1453 he prob would have saved byzantium
@@GustavusAdolphus113 I don't understand why you are telling all these things and it is pointless because I am not going to make a reupload of that video.
I don't understand why people think that Costantine the Great founded the Byzantine Empire, Byzantines are Romans. Constantine was a ROMAN EMPEROR, HE NEVER FOUNDED BYZANTINE EMPIRE. Theodosius the Great did it. When Theodosius died in 395 A.D. he ordered the Roman Empire to be divided between his two sons, Arcadius and Honorius.
He moved the capital to Byzantium. So yes if you want to go by this name. And Theodosius did not "ordered the Roman Empire to be divided between his two sons" either. There was never a "imperium romanum orientale".
The Bulgarslayer destroyed the 1st Bulgarian empire but your little Kaloyan wasn't able to destroy the Great Byzantine empire. The 1st and the 2nd Bulgarian empires are not even larger than the Byzatine empire combined
Theodosius, truly given by God, unfortunately, he didn't consecrated his sons, cause if he did, I think God could have blessed them to make the Empire survive by their reforms
Hello!! To be honest, I have never heard of this Guarazzar treasure until now when you mentioned it, so I looked into Wikipedia and I think it's Visigothic
@@ImperatorFebriges it's like the Praetorian Guards but Eastern or Byzantine version, from what I read, I believe it was reformed from the Roman Eques Singularis Augusti (or simply like mounted praetorian guards), into Scholae Palatinae
IMO, most powerful 400s emperor is either Marcian or Leo. As Marcian was able to stand against the Huns, and Leo eliminated germanic influences in the court.
@@ImperatorFebriges I mean its not like she blinded, deposed and imprisoned her own son and then took over the Empire right? One can say she was a saint!
Would be more epic if Rome was mentioned in the very end of the video, seems Byzantium owning all of Italy not that well known fact among amateur historians
Basil II did not destroy the first bulgarian Tsardom. The Tsardom was already integrated and was taken over by Nicholas and afterwards his sons (one of which was Samuel) the country was called the Medieval Macedonia Kingdkm however the name "bulgar was so engrained in the minds of the byzantines that they labeled it as such
