I bought one of these UNBRANDED, with the white dial and black ceramic bezel. Along with a black NATO band, it's a classic PANDA color combo. Added the SEIKO raised Chrome badge mod to the dial...voila. Cost for the SEIKO badge...$5. Cost for the NATO strap $5. Cost for the watch...$60. It was my first (and only) dial mod...but I gave it a go and it turned out terrifically well.
Heimdallr ain't a bad name, could be worse. Maybe the watch company likes the idea of something powerful and legendary like a Norse God for their brand. Got any other cool names in mind for a watch company? What do you think makes a name stand out?
I was tempted to buy this one multiple times, but I'm always worried it would be too big. Never had the possibility to try on any Willard, maybe I just need to finally go for it and return/resell if not satisfied.... Anyway, thanks for the vid, glad to see some fresh humoristic approach to watch reviews!
If you have doubts, I personally don't recommend buying it. The design is quite strong and takes up good space on your wrist. What I suggest is going to a Seiko AD nearby and trying one out to see if you like it. Then you can purchase it confidently and cheap. If I had to buy it again, I would choose the black version, either this Addies or the Steeldive (I believe they are essentially the same).
@@CoolWatchesOnly Thanks for the honest answer :) Yeah, the other versions or Addies or Steeldive have a benefit of BGW9-lumed ceramic bezel, which looks great IMHO. I'll check around in local stores if I could find any Willard to try, good suggestion.
I have been wearing the same S435 daily, since Jan of this year. It's a fantastic watch and a steal at only ~USD 200. Bought mine on AliExpress from the Sugess Official Store. I own probably close to 35 watches, including my Rolex sub (16613, bought new back in 1998) and a Glashutte Senator (bought new in 2007). This Seestern S435 has very nice quality/fit/finish. The machined bracelet micro-adjustment mechanism is exceptional. Double-domed sapphire crystal...ceramic bezel...excellent lume...classic design! This is one terrific watch!!! Always liked the SeaQ...considered buying one until I spotted this S435. Why even consider a homage of a homage? Simply because a daily driver will require maintenance. My sub was cleaned/revised about 2 years ago...for a cool US$1100. The Glashutte Senator will cost even more. Having a couple of "luxury grade" pieces to wear on special occasions is nice. However, as an every day driver...not my preference. I have opted to wear very nice sport watches with dependable mechanisms (NH35/36...PT5000...SeaGull ST2160) that will last for many years...and when they do start to show their age...simply replace the entire mechanism for a mere $60-$100. Just my opinion.
I don’t have that many watches, but I can perfectly understand how this watch could outshine and send to the bench watches costing five or ten times more. I don’t receive complaints or anything, but I’ve had a few people staring at it as if it were a pie.😅
I just noticed the buckle pin is entirely separate from the spring bar for the link. My Invicta 1953 pressed clasp has a single riveted pin that goes through both the buckle and link. I assume I'll have to grind the rivet off.
The more conventional looking Addiesdive Willard is my preference. This watch seems like it can’t decide if it wants to be a Willard or a GS. Either way Addiesdive watches are the ultimate when it comes to value.
Brother do a review for the pd_ 1766 it's amazing. I have the black sandwich Dial with a leather strap it's stunning and the quality is outstanding and i got for only 58 bucks
This channel blatantly favors Chinese brands and overlooks their flaws. When you purchase a product from an American or European brand, you support many legitimate companies that don’t engage in shady practices or copy designs. Deleting comments that don’t align with your viewpoint further highlights this bias.
@@Superrstuff Looks neat, I have kind of a list right now but can include it after that, the brand has a pretty good track record, I would go for it, it has sapphire and a seiko vh movement, second hand looks like auto or mechanic fluid, and very economic, I would get it 👌
@@Dan-i4i Divers sell a lot man, everyone likes divers, since I started the channel I've got 36 watch sales, 3 chronos, 5 or maybe 4 nautilus style and the rest all divers 🤣
I have a Trident Sharkey with a lovely blue wave dial. Rough polish between the lugs with some sharp edges, but.......with a rubber strap. fantastic lume, and that wave dial ! Only wish i also bought the black version with the orange indices. Great handset also (second hand to thin) this company doesn't seem to get mentioned or used in comparison test anymore. Shame as they are good to very good value.
Proxima! Good video, by the way. Instant sub. Hope to see more content from you! Didn’t appreciate the dig at the Proxima logo 😅even they’ve moved away from that already
They mindlessly jump on trends, devoid of any critical thinking, simply mimicking whatever is popular. This channel shamelessly glorifies Chinese culture, turning a blind eye to its shortcomings, as if it were an unwavering fan of homage.
This channel is quickly becoming one of my favorites! The videos are always so informative and entertaining, even the list videos are packed with details.
I agree that (probably) is the best value watch on AE. I was tempted to buy it but I think the hands are a bit too short (i.e. Minute and Second hands don't reach the Chapter ring) and legibility could be better (light coloured hands on a light background isn't the best option..). So, despite loving the textured face/original 'spin' on the "Captain Willard", I paid a few more pounds for the Addiesdive AD2045 Turtle/Willard hybrid model with the Blue Wave Pattern face and larger hands
First, loved the review, super entertaining and full of details, about the watch itself, I don't doubt the quality and materials could be very good, disregarding the price. However, I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole! They'd need to pay me to wear this watch, haha. From your four watches so far, I like the Pgani Design and the Seestern the most. Speaking of Seestern, the v1 you showed in your first video looked very good too. Would be nice if you could do a separate review of that one sometime.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the review, entertainment is definitely a goal While I understand the design might not be for everyone, the quality seems impressive, copmletely fair! Personal style is key in watches. The Pgani Design and Seestern are definitely strong designs specially the Seestern, I personally own the v2 and v3, and that v2 design is the second best to my taste among my watches.
i want the tiffany color version. but neither original and homage wont make the person wearing it 5x better looking. this is why i just buy fashion brands like fossil dkny aramani mk and skagen.because theres no expectations to them. i mean theyre expected to have above average or high quality. but homage watches are great to. theyll make us buy more watches cause they look great but we are not sure if chinese movt are reliable and durable.
That's a fair point! The 'Tiffany blue' is definitely a cool color, but at the end of the day, a watch is an accessory. I hear you on the fashion brands - Fossil, DKNY etc. They make stylish watches without the pressure of luxury brands. As for homage watches, they can be a great way to get a similar look for less. The movements can be a gamble, but some brands use reliable Japanese movements. Reviews online can be your friend here to check quality. Ultimately, it's about what you like and what fits your budget. If a fun, affordable watch makes you happy, that's all that matters!
@@CoolWatchesOnly i just bought 2 pagani watches. 1777 and 1732 im just worried about how would chinese automatic movt would last. im expecting them to last forever as long as i dont dropped them on concrete. i mean theyre 75 to 100usd each and if they dont last without being harsh to it. ill just stick fashion brands who has better movt inside😁
@@user-li6ns2lk3z On these, unless they come with some issue from the factory, you're good to go. I've had a Bliger watch with a Chinese GMT movement inside for over 5 years now. It's all scuffed, smashed, and scratched, yet it still works just like it did on the first day.
I like the applied indices but the watch as a whole is plain ugly. It's just several known and derivative design elements aimlessly thrown together. I don't think the design works at all. I'd say the dial is the biggest culprit. It's not a good fit for a diver. It would probably work better in a sports watch with slimmer indices. I don't like it at all, you couldn't pay me to wear that thing, though I am sure that the quality is amazing for the price.
I agree with almost everything. I believe a diver should be black or dark blue for better legibility. As for the design, I'm not really fond of it based on the pictures and even after watching my video. The oversized and disproportionate crown guard doesn't sit well with me. However, when seeing it in person, I kind of like it. It's not a GADA watch by any means. I bought it just to try it out since it has sold thousands and received about 4.8 stars. It was super cheap and my expectations were very low. I bought another one thinking that if I didn't like it, I could still review something. But if you have the chance to test the real Willard (Seiko) in person, go for it. On the contrary, my dad liked it a lot right from the beginning. He spotted it during a video call and started interrogating me about it, haha! Design preferences are subjective, after all.
I have previously owned one of these watches and agree with the above comments. The quality is great but the proportions are awkward and I feel the dial is set too deep in the case.
@@grahamwallace yes, I think on the black version that would be less noticeable, but is a strong design for sure, you either like it or you don't, so far of the 2 Seiko designs I've tested I prefer the "Marinemaster 300"
@@grahamwallace I have the Steeldive cousin of this watch. I love it! I wasn't impressed by it in pictures or videos on RU-vid, but I found a great deal and bought it anyway. To this day, it's one of my best cheap watch purchases.
The watch lacks originality, and it seems that there is a misnomer regarding the plant. The correct term for the plant used in tequila production is "agave," not "tequila plant." And that's not that plant either. additionally, the drink on that bottle is not actually tequila but rather a vodka brand. I don't find the funny part really
What they are doing is a rip-off, Patek Phillips not only copied the design but changed it and modified it and now is even more expensive than the Royal Oak, buying a clone homage is not that better than buying a clone or a fake smh
yeah no super original, but I don't work for any of the parts so they can sort it out between themselves 😅 my friend is the one who makes the thing affordable to me!
SI, es masculino, pero no luce tan grande, parece que es cosa de diseño de Seiko, es el segundo que tengo que cuando te lo pones queda mucho más cómodo que lo que las medidas sugieren
