Bigg Girl was not a quarter horse hybrid, couldn't have been. She was too slow, at 3/4 of a mile she was in the lead by a neck and the time was 1:23:0, at a mile she ran 1:50:1, that's a very much slow pace, and slow timing. She couldn't have been a quarter horse hybrid or any other breed, especially when she lost to uptown sandy girl, and she's per Arabian. So i just think she could've been drugged or she was just better than the rest of the horses in the field. Plus the field didn't have much competition so it's not surprising that she beat them. Be more realistic people, don't just believe what you hear, know the breed and know the pedigree. Look up her ped and you'll see that she is pure Arabian.
The Arabian Jockey club conducted genetic testing that found multiple Arabians in the barn, including So Bigg Boy, were found to have the same thourobred genetic contribution. Both horses were banned as was the trainer who was barred from racing and banned from the Arabian Jockey Club.
Hey pedigree is fraudulent, which is easy to do because Arabian breeding isn't live cover. So he just put whatever they wanted as the pedigree and turned it into the AJC. They don't know any different unless they conduct independent genetic testing (which they did) and found the parents of Bigg Girl weren't the ones listed on her foaling papers.
@@1badcat760 because you can not run Arabian/thoroughbred cross bred horses against full blood Arabian horses. The thoroughbred part makes the horse much faster. It is a big cheat cross breading to race. So a cross bred horse is not eligible to race…
@@mememe8897 But why couldn't the horse run again against other thoroughbred's? You make it sound like the horse's race career is over with your original post. I understand the difference in the horses.
These are Arabians. Not only that they are females. Any horseman knows this may be the most skittish horse out there. This is how they run head up shoulders back. They are more often trained as show horses . Still fun to watch. I once saw a guy get on an Arabian mare bare back no bit. She sped towards a fence in an open field stop ok n a dime just before the fence and launched the guy into a swamp. So lucky was he to have a soft landing but he was so far thrown nobody but he was there to see him hit the ground. No lie folks.Best of luck.
I think you missed the point. This horse is a arabian/thoroughbred running against full blood Arabians. These Arabians are bred for racing but have no chance against a bad thoroughbred. The horse was disqualified from the race and was not allowed to race again. That tells me it has thoroughbred blood...
Prize money, but if this is a special race for quarter horses and big girl is not a quarter horse you can see why she had an advantage, plus she looks huge compared to the others, she may have been a thoroughbred
UNBELIEVABLE..live in LA, but grew up walking distance to Delaware Park. Delaware Park is not the majors but solid reputation. They run an all Arabian race once a card every card, usually the last or next to last race on the card. Those involved with Arabians take a LOT OF PRIDE about the line. I can’t believe they would allow any hybrid, IF YOU WILL, anywhere near the actual Arabians. BEEG GIRL looked like Winning Colors.
lol wait? Racing is not legit? And are you saying, he put a 4 yr old vs 2 yr old and a different class of horse?? So ya, who checked the horse before they went off? I am pretty sure the track had no problem keeping anyone's money that day regardless of events.
Mark Powell was fined, and banned from Delaware Park for life. DNA tests showed his horses "So Bigg Boy" and this horse, "Bigg Girl" were half thoroughbred and half Arabian. (Hence the obvious size issues). It's funny because I watched this race from Saratoga and myself and two others called the racing secretary at Del Park and brought it to his attention.. Apparently many others did too.. His partner who is his brother is currently trying to get reinstated to run Arabians at Del Park again..
