I'm Giovanni from Italy, riding LDP Longboards since 3 years & eating pizzas since 32 😁 I started this channel to review all the gear (trucks, tails, boards, wheels) I bought so you may not get them all to build your best setup! I also raced 2 Marathons and the 2023 Skate IDSA Virtual Tour The Longboard and I want to bring my experience.
It's hard to select just one, just like longboards 🤣 in this winter I re-discovered pumpkin & sausage, while for "all seasons" I would pick vegetables, Gorgonzola cheese, maybe mushrooms... many things 😁
I tired it once and it didn't kill me 😂 I think it's controversial due to being a sweet fruit, but in northern italy is common to pair cheese to sliced apples or pears on pizzas, also caramelized onions. Love them 😁 but it's a more "wintery" taste 😋
Ciao mi chiamo Riccardo ti posso chiedere alcune informazioni?
glad you are recovering well man! Also I'm super excited about that wheel comparison video I think it will be very helpful since wheel selection are so important for LDP
I started wearing a helmet after I broke my brow bone I didn't have surgery because it was barely fractured but I have a small dent there maybe in the future I might need surgery. I also broke my clavicle both those injuries where on a bike tho.
I generally wear a helmet because I don't mind the looks or heat for the safety it brings... I used to ride various kind of bikes, I had the hardest slams doing trials, without a helmet I would be dead as I fell backwards on my head and back 😅 also Snowboarding had some hits but aleays with the helmet, so I'm keeping it also longboarding, even if I probably never hit my head in the few falls I had, but It never hurts. Glad that you are well and hopefully don't need surgery, it was quite painful for the first two days after 😅
2:28 I'm trying to loose a weight with not much success, please don't give me stupid ideas xD Also, your performance in recovery time is way greater that my in the peak of the form. Good luck with Le Tour Te Longboard!!!
Thanks for the good words 😊 I didn't lost that much power or endurance in a month (it went worse when I broke 2 fingers years ago) and well... the liquid diet quite worked fine 😂 I blended almost anything possible and my main meals aren't that smaller now, just no snacking on crunchy things... and that's quite terrible sometimes cooking, I need to wait to finish cooking (and blending) to eat someting 😅. I hope you don't break anything, but if you need something more than motivation you can just get the teeth braces and lock them with rubber bands, so no more munching 😂
Shit happens when you ride very different kind of boards, not your fault it is hard to adjust to all of them, it is possible, but the experience come with mistakes, I did many. Get better an keep it up, this was a very hard lesson, but falling time to time is actually good to have an automatic reaction and be safe. You know already for sure. Forza 💪❤️🩹 meglio il riso della pasta molle 😅
Yep, switching board didn't helped 😅 I treated the cruiser too much like a super stable Ldp setup (and it isn't the first time) + distraction, that was fully my fault 😓 Comunque grazie mille Alberto! 😊, e devo dire frullare cibo da adulti è molto più buono degli omogenizzati 🤣🤣
It's more: Ouch - Man broke a bone in the face for being distracted while skating 🤕 nothing epic, I just hope nobody does that. And my videos are generally more informative 😅
Hope you have a speedy recovery. While trying to figure out the answer to this myself, what do you think of top mount pumping vs bracket mounted pumping?
Thanks for the message and... well both pump well! On a topmount you can stand on the front truck and some people strongly like that and therefore prefer topmounts, while on a bracket setups you are obviously behind the truck/there is more leverage due to the foot-truck distance, and the center of gravity is lower, giving an "hammock" feel of swinging between 2 higher points (the trucks) - this applies also to drop boards with a big drop. In my experience these factors won't prevent you from pumping fast (and maybe even faster) than a topmount; for the leverage on the truck, just use a slightly softer bushing (or maybe just 1 or even 0,5 turn less on the kingpin) and for the hammock feel... I developed a taste for it! and after 2+ years on brackets, I prefer them and set new personal records, also because I feel safer (lower to ground & bigger wheels). Years ago I started on topmount for aesthetics and price, but then switched and my performance improved 😊 I started participating races and pretty everyone was on brackets. Pure pushers sometimes were on drop downs.
Also: Bracket setups eliminate the need for long bolts and wedging even with 45° rkp or 11° tkp like bennetts, that require 12°+ wedging (an upside of costing more 😁). End note: The Supersonic (7:43) feels quite close to a bracket setup 😉😉 it has really good angles but you can still use some wedges to slightly tune it (like 5° more or less)
The part with the drone is great! Super intresting and happy to see you back on the board in a short time! It's important to not lose confidence! In motorsport, if you have a crash, everyone try to take you back on track sooner as they can for that reason!
Well, I also like my LY Ripper that checks all that... and you probably like the acceleration from small wheels, but I think that something like a Pranayama with Speedvents or Ember with Blastwaves could fit your likings too ;)
@@LDPizza Currently I have a dipper set up with small Paris trucks 129 and 70mm Carver Roundhouse Wheels that is comparable but set up to pump and push that is bliss but a pain to carry/stow, a drop through with Paris 50/43 180s, a drop down that I just can't get comfortable on as V.flexy AND short = bows (wedge angle changing) platform in ways I can't predict. Seismic are a pretty steep cost like Orangatang has become round these parts and Blood Orange, Cult, even Hamboards MUCH cheaper same size or larger options with great experiences so far. Weird thing as I developed 63mm Hawgs or 66mm Hamboard or PP Snake wheels even 58mm "filmer" wheels (any brand) now go over everything, are as fast as most cyclists, and 10km is easy WITH less weight, easier carry/throw down/pick up, ability to ollie over emergencies and still able to slide stop. One of my first boards was a 29" Z-flex that with a wheel upgrade and wedges does it all but it took SO long to appreciate it (same with the much later LY Dinghy). Think I would have got to that point with less cost, less time, and less uncontrolled speed injuries if I had just put up with some scratches, wounded pride, and "feeling the burn" instead of trying to buy away the need for those with easier platforms only it took ~3 years/5 days a week of slower scratches, wounded pride, and "feeling the burn" anyway. The boards you mention are 'perfect' commuters in some regards, but my equivalents jibbed me on the basics of skating while also making me more likely to roll when I shouldn't or/and hit speeds (and situations) my body/skills weren't ready for/avoid without issues.
@@insanogeddon makes sense; I commute on a Trip with Kegels because they are not too fast 😅 but however, with smaller wheels and cruiser I don't have the best luck and fell way more than on Ldp setups with 90+mm wheels. But I don't have a street skating background and I live in super flat city, it surely affects my taste. I also mentioned Seismics for their lightness (and now Karmas too), but I rarely use mine for road quality, preferring Boas or McFlys
@@LDPizza I had the same experience but over time somehow the smaller wheels started just working. It is like rolling over things you never thought you could, or cornering sharper than you could, breaking faster etc Perhaps skill grows or muscles adapt no idea but it seems more like and attitude shift 'I think I can' and no worries. Hell there was a time even with big wheels I was wary of plastic grip on crossings. Having said that I just know I am going to body by the end of the week .. it is SO much a mind thing. Dam all those wheels look good but they're bl@@dy 200 to 300 a set here from Mcfly, Karma to the Boas. Beggars can't be choosers ; p
Thanks for the feedback! It isn't new anymore for me and filming rides in general is new/I'm not used to! In the future I would like to ride some "more scenic" routes and make videos... If I'll find the time 😅😁
So soon sooooooo sorry for the injury man!!! But super glad to see you on a bord that quickly! Good luck with the rehabilitation and keep pushing (and pumping of course 😊)
Sorry to hear what happened to you, but glad to see you are back on the board. Now you just need to rehabilitate your jaw to where you can eat pizza again. 😉
Sorry for the unrelated question, but I would be really curious to know your opinion! G-Bomb TTX or Don't Trip Delirium?!? I had both in my cart for a while, but I can't decide the trigger to pull 😅
No problems 😊 both work well but here is my expericence: with a front tkp like a bennet, torsion tails are best, therefore ttx; with a rkp like paris, bear or poppy, both work: ttx is best for a mix of pushing (gives more stability) and pumping when you reach higher speeds; DT Delirum (or if you are in EU, I suggest the Exile Insania) gives a little less stability pushing but for pure pumping, even at medium speed, is more fluid. If you get the ttx, get also the bushing kit, it's torally worth it!
@@LDPizza Thank you soooooooo much!!! You 100000% solved my doubt! I'm definitely more into a mixed style and with a slight preference for pushing, so the ttx sounds very promising 😁 Thanks a million again and sorry for the out of topic!!!
Yes, new videos will come soon, not only on top level parts like the mk truck... but an unexpected encounter with the asphalt slowed the process 😅 I'll post a video about it and restart with the planned schedule 😊
Thanks! And right guess, it's an MK Space truck, and now the unboxing video is out! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H-IDqpsMxnI.htmlsi=vs70FNJT0e10PZb- And... can you guess the second package too? It's still a front truck, but more... integrated!
Awesome 👏 We definitely need more LDP content out there. I can tell you're very knowledgable - keep going! I was always confused whether LDP referred to pushing or pumping (didn't know paddling was included) This clarified a lot - thanks
Thanks! I have been following your channel since the days of surfskate truck comparisons and the quality has always been very high, so I'm honored to receive this comment! And @Concrete-waves definitely motivated me to start my channel as well as the older Ldp channels that seem to be not uploading anymore... So thank you again and happy that you liked it! 😊
Hi! It's a Rocket exodus + front hydra + ttx, on karmas in this video. I'll make a more in-depth video about this board in about 3 weeks (and others in the meantime 😊)
