First time I saw Skyhooks they were the backup band for Matt Taylor's release of his Brisbane To Beechworth album at the Wangaratta Town Hall. We were all pretty stoned and we were suddenly met with the full force of the original Skyhooks from before they had to 'tone it down a bit' for the mainstream. I still remember the about 10 minute drum solo that still echoes in my head.
One of the main bass guitarist's 'big goose' (Barry Sullivan from Matt Taylor's CHAIN lived here in Caloundra,Sunshine coast Qld,they where also great as pub rock,I'm friends with his son who is a drummer & also teaches drums...
God Bless America no Nation on Earth would have ever thought to develop something like this and that my friends is why America is the greatest nation on Earth!!!!
It would be completely logical for first contact to be done slowly. so that those seeing you for the first time could get used to your appearance and not feel like you are rushing at them. Just like approaching any animal that doesn't know you. you go slow.
It's a bit of luck that the very first aliens we meet look entirely human except for their pointed ears. Might have been a lot different if the door opened a hissing Gorn stepped out.
I think the assumption is that being introduced to those technologies leap frogs us forward in technological advancement but idk if there's any lore to support that
In Star Trek Enterprise it’s stated that even the Vulcans are surprised how quickly we advanced to the point where they try to sabotage our progress to slow us down
