Passing Through is the debut single by Michael J. Keplinger (MJK). Although superficially an ordinary love song, it carries nuanced darkness in its lyrics and harmonies, crafting a mature narrative exploring love’s value amid human imperfections. The song, written, performed & produced by Michael J. Keplinger, was mastered by Alex Wharton at Abbey Road Studios and released on May 31, 2024 through DIEgital Records. Aw man I really wished this worked for me!! I'm getting a message with Ableton Live 11 Standard, "This device is not available in this version of Live." Anyone have a solution?
I am desperate to try this but I cannot seem to get it working with my Ableton Live Suite 11 running on Windows 10. When I try to load the Max device to a track it just hangs and doesn't respond.

it says that the device is not avalible with my version of ableton, I have the standard version and it is fully up to date with updates, am I doing something wrong?
I don’t know if you’ve figured this out by now but it requires max for live which comes with ableton live suite. You have to buy the add on to use max for live in standard

Puede desactivar la ventana gráfica en cuanto se ejecute el plug-in, pero no puede abrir el plug-in sin ventana gráfica desde el principio. De hecho, la ventana gráfica es algo que me gustaría dejar de lado con V7, porque sólo supone un esfuerzo informático innecesario. De todos modos, ¡gracias por tu comentario!
Hi Michael! I’m currently having a similar issue as some of the other comments. I tried to email a video but for some reason I’m unable to. Here’s what I have… tech: Mac Studio M1 silicon / Ableton 10 Software: ableton 10 Routing: harmonizer on Audio Track with IN monitoring on / MIDI track with IN monitoring on and MIDI To sending to Harmonizer audio track. Issue: I’m receiving dry signal but I’m not receiving wet signal or any harmonies.
What an awesome device!!! Though I couldn't get the MIDI track to Control the harmoniser I put the midi track on in but the Device doesn't change and it doesn't recognise the harmoniser as a midi controlled affect is there something I missed?
@@mjk-media yeah but the midi in didn't even let me send information to the audio track like there is no midi compatible device on the audio track. is it possible the version in the description is not the latest version?
@@mjk-media Thank you for your quick answer. I use Ableton Live 11.2.6 on macOS 12.5. Maybe I'm using the plugin wrong. I just add it to an audio track. Do I need to do something else?
This device is spectacular!! really really amazing work! I have two slight requests tho for a future update. Is it possible to make the key dial, the major/minor switch, and the manual/automatic button mappable? currently, they reset to c maj when I load up the rack I have them in (even tho I have it saved to d# minor) so remembering parameters and automation would be huge for me! the only other thing would be the keep the floating window disabled if that option is selected, but that kinda goes with the remembering parameters thing. again, amazing work, thank you for sharing!

@@AYAmusic. You should already be able to pan voices individually: above the row of (individual) faders there is first a row of text displays showing the current notes and above that there is a row of pan knobs. Also, no need to apologize, I’m very much glad to be bombarded with excitement! ;)
Hi, thanks for reaching out! I’m sorry to say, I really don’t know how to help you here. I haven’t come across a way to make a plugin backward compatible. I’ll keep it in mind in case something comes up, but unless maybe someone here has an idea for something I can do within Max MSP, I don’t know how to help you, sorry… :/
@@nataliazmarzy9176 Yes, it should absolutely work with Ableton 11. If for any reason it should not just write me an email (you can find the address on my channel) with any error message or so you might be getting and I’ll try to figure it out!
No, but if you have the current (or a semi-current) Ableton version it should work fine in theory. Can you walk me through what you did with the file from downloading it to applying it to a track in case it’s a general problem?
UPDATE 24 October 2022: A new update is now available! It fixes the audio output problems some users experienced and adds the option of selecting your root note in „manual“ mode via a MIDI controller. Due to the Max for live architecture, an audio device cannot process MIDI data and vice versa, but via the simple workaround of creating a separate MIDI track and setting its send to the audio track featuring the harmonizer, it works just fine. → The update is now available on mjk-design.at/harmonizer Thanks to Dave Knowles, Gal Sarig, PlaGu and a handful of others who have reached out with their experiences!
Hey Micheal, first and foremost. Thanks for that tool! It sounds insane in your demo. But I have the Same problem here, doesn't work in Ableton 11 with Max 8. Macbook M1. How can I help with Data ? Best Felix
Hi Felix, thanks a lot for reaching out! Do you happen to know a bit about Max/Max for live and if so, could you maybe open the plugin and just dig around for any faulty objects? As silly as it sounds, my biggest problem is that the plugin works just fine on all computers that are available to me regardless of the computer’s age or OS, so I’m having a really hard time locating the error. Anything you find would be extremely helpful! :)

Hi, thanks for your comment - really warms the heart! :) Funny you should ask, when I recorded this, I started out wanted to do the full song, but quickly cut it down to just the one verse because I figured no one would want to watch that long ;) Also: really glad you enjoyed my site! As for the plugin: maybe wait a bit before trying it. I’m currently working on fixing some problems with it that have popped up since I put it online. If you want, I can notify you with a comment on here once the new update is available :)

@@DaveKnowlesmusic Thanks, I might! Well you could try the current version (as on my site: bit.ly/3rxOyPx). The problems didn’t show up with every user and I can’t quite make out the common denominator just yet so it might work perfectly fine for you. If it doesn’t work you’ll notice pretty quickly, cause you simply won’t get an audio output and some controls might not work.
@@mjk-media Yeah - that's the version I installed. And that's the problem I got. Audio in, but none out. Followed all the steps I could find in the youtube thread.
