Another winner. Despite you doing varying genres, your signature sound of long build ups and additions over time underpinned by solid, hypnotic drums always shines through. Love it mate.
Really digging this channel since it popped up on my feed. Hope it gets more views/subscribers 👍🏻 think something that would help, is showing how you make sounds and patch the semi modular kit. Just got a kobol myself so would be interesting to see you do videos on patch creation. Even better would be to do without a specific sound that you’d already made. Just random twiddling and patching until you hit the sweet spot 👍🏻😂
Great cohesion. I started doing something a bit like that. I'll have a main reset and polymeters layered doing odd time signatures that may or may not reset at the same place.
Nice!!! lot goin on there, but it melded well. HH timing thing? it reminded me of one of the sequencers i have that mods the rythm with an LFO and i have no idea what its doing bu the time variance always pleases so.. i dunno lol
Thanks Dan! Yeah, it does have a lot going on. I I lack the confidence to go "minimal". But I'm glad to hear my "overwhelming forces" melded together well. What is that sequencer you mentioned? The LFO trick on the HH sounds interesting! So I'd love to know.
Thanks, I only have the recording of that pad. No individual samples. But I've uploaded it for you here: www.mediafire.com/file/d05iigo45jma5qt/ElectronicTigerEndlessRoad2600Pad.wav/file Feel free to use it in anyway you see fit. And if you do, please send a link. I'd love to hear it!
CAN,T BELIEVE ... IVe only just Discovered Your Channel Bro. ...Just a FEAST For the Ears n Eye,s .. FANTASTIC Taste in Synths and Sound ..i Promised myself id Stop buying synths as im finding it REALLY HARD .. To stick with 1 when making a Track ,, i keep changing mid session and end up going in another direction because the sound takes my there ,.. PLUS .. Ive got CRIPPLING A.D.H.D. .... Which makes the problem 10 times Worse But when i Look at YOUR Mouthwatering Selection of GooDies ... I Just WANT MORE ...
Thanks Jaffa, I appreciate hearing that! The GAS never stops. Not for me, anyway. Despite having room full of goodies. The thing is though, as I'm sure you know, it's not how much gear you have. It's what you do with it. I've seen people with rooms full of stuff who create nothing. And kids with a single synth, a drum machine and time & dedication produce magic. I endeavor to be like such a kid. But it's hard. And must be extra so with A.D.H.D, I'm sure. Anyway, stay creative and have fun playing with the toys you've already got. Easier said than done, I know.
Well it’s more melodic techno to me. But your track on edge absolutely is. It’s subjective. It’s true that a lot people use that term “hypnotic”. Too much. BTW I like this track too.
Thanks sonic! The ARP 2600 is brilliant instrument. I always wanted one ever since learning about them in the 90s. But they were way out of my price range. If Behringer never released their version, I would never have had the pleasure of playing with such a wonderful synth.
Thanks mate! Yes, that's spot on. It's really more of a noodle than a complete track. I do have ideas how it could be part of a large piece. With more context and other instruments. A starting point, if you will.
Fair question, maybe not? I think eventually will end up being a part of a bigger piece that will eventually put in the room with us, as you say. Cause I do like the sound of it.
"Sound you can live in" is an excellent description. I definitely had a good time making it. But I do think it needs a bit more. I have ideas for a large piece where this can become part of. But as it stands, I agree that it's nothing more than a fun experiment. Thanks for tuning in!
WHY ON EARTH Am i Not receiving your videos on Release 😮😮😢 Your Channel is Amazing Dude, ❤ The Last 3 Vids ive watched are Off the ⚖ Scale 😮 Real early Underworld Vibes, i got the EDGE "" 6 months back and Absolutely Love its Diversity and Raw Analog Sound 🔊, I'll sub from my Laptop later as This is an old 🧓 Logo i can't seen to get rid of and comes when I use my phone 📱 which is a nightmare as ive a completely Dawless studio, just type "" jaffa Jenkins "" and you'll see what I mean 😊 BRILLIANT Work my Man 👨 Jaffa j.
Thanks Jaffa! I'm very happy to hear that you're liking my stuff. The Edge is an absolute beast. Like you say raw and diverse. As for getting notifications about my videos, you may need to hit that little bell icon somewhere, if you haven't already. But yeah, phones can be a nightmare! Anyway, I'm listening to your CLouDCoVeR right now. Good stuff! Anyways, thanks so much for stepping by, I really appreciate that!
Aha, the dude is silently continuing creating music. NIce, I really dig the first 4 minutes, especially the first instrument synth, that somehow gives me Legend B vibes. It's probably one of your best compositions. I also like the transition at 3:00. From 4:00 the structure gets a little lost, but 4 minutes are long enough for a song like this anyway. ;)
Thanks for the compliment mr DYNAMITE! ;) Yeah, some jams go on longer than they should. But that's part of my project for this year. Record stuff every week. Experiment and try things. And don't worry too much about it being "perfect". By the end of the year I'm going to take all my favorite pieces. And edit them into an album, or something.
Thanks Koos! The Kobol is continuing to scratch my itch even after 5+ months of having it. Anyway, hope you find a new toy to have fun with! Thanks for tuning in.
How did you do the layering? Did you record the first one as an audio track in your DAW and then played over it on a different track? I don’t think you can play both tracks with the sounds coming out from the edge right?
Yes, exactly that. I recorded the second take while listening to the first. So I'm responding to what is already there. And indeed, the Edge is a monosynth so it can only output a single sound.
@@electronictiger enjoy making music... As I do. Check my channel If you like👍😎 ru-vid.com/group/PLGUzauOx1plS-l8jA-qWKFrVVoV5gLyqW&si=DEdDJtdga5ZSFWcN
Hypnotic indeed. I like the double layering idea. Did you have anything in mind when you did the second layer or just went for it with the hope it would fit in, which it did with the base G and D notes and similar, gradual modulations? Did you have a stopwatch going as well to get both layers closing out at the same time? Just curious how you approached it. I have a Crave and a TD-3, you could say an Edge is an obvious next addition when the next round of GAS hits.
Thanks Jon! I listened to the G performance whilst recording the D performance. So it's me responding to what's already there. I chose G and D because they are a perfect 4th apart. So they are consonant together. This would have allowed me to add an additional melody. But I didn't really feel I could fit anything in, so I abandoned that idea. Anyway, I'm sure the Edge would be a lovely accompaniment for your TD-3 and Crave.
@@electronictiger cool, thanks for explaining your approach. Is that a perfect 4th or a perfect 5th though? Not trying to be pedantic, a genuine question as I’m trying to get my head round theory. G up to D a perfect 5th? G down to D a descending perfect 4th? I dunno 😀
@@jonmaddison Sorry, my bad. Indeed, a perfect 5th as the D is higher than the G. I originally started on a lower D but that sounded messy. Too many low frequencies. So I went an octave up. But I didn't change my way of thinking about it. Thanks for pointing it out! I mean that sincerely.
Thanks mate! Yeah, quite so. It is different from things just purely generated inside the computer. I don't think Orchestral Movements In The Dark wrote their song "Electricity" about analog synths. But it might as well have been because it is so apt. In all seriousness, the rawness of the sound is one thing. But the hands one approach is another huge factor. That breaths a lot of life into the pieces as well. And that's something you can achieve with a midi controller and some VSTs.
Thanks BPEMETO! What Behringer synths I would recommend really depend on what music you want to make. But the 2600 is extremely versatile and just generally awesome. And I also love the Kobol Expander. Which has a very different sound. I adore the Pro-1, you can't go wrong with that one. I'm considering its polyphonic brother, the Pro-800. Hope this helps!
@@electronictiger Thanls! : ) For sure I would get some of these one day, but right now I'm an absolute beginner with analog synths ... I was thinking something more like The Cave and The Edge or TD-3-MO and RD-6. The type of music I want to create is more like in your video. No external keyboard ... just knobs and sound and rhythm : )
@@electronictiger Thanks! : ) And one more thing .... What additional gear would you recommend getting with the synths ? I've just realized that If I have several of them, I'll probably need at least an audio mixer of some kind.
@@BPEMETO An audio interface for sure. Get one with more inputs than you think you'll need. And something to record into, a DAW. Can be anything really. I like Reaper and its inexpensive. And some cables to connect it all. If you've got more money to spend, buy some effect pedals. Delays are your freinds. Can be cheap guitar pedal. Keep your setup small, play, experiment and see what you need next.
Cool, I'm genuinely appreciative of you letting me know how you feel. And I'm also curious to why you think it's awful. Not as judgment or anything. Just curious.
Cool . I use my edge very similar , and try to start out more synth sound like pads ect , but it just leads you into chill out rave , it’s filters are designed that way, after all it is a percussion instrument, and I find it very hands on , great for live performance, if that’s your thing , I try to stay away from its midi , it is annoying , but control voltage works ok , I have it links to its brother the crave , and a Drumbrute impact , via a Microfreak , a zoom multi effect and a sq-1 …
And OF COURSE it is possible to play the Edge via MIDI. What are you even talking about? You just have to set it to the right MIDI channel on the backside. Just read the manual!
I like the edge more than my TD3, it can make comparable sounds and much more. The result is a often by random. If I had an idea what I want, I better use my Neutron. But for bass lines or a background Melody I like the edge. For kicks it is nice, but not my favourite synth. I wished it has sawtooth waveform. I used it a lot in my song ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QWkDHOq2_9k.htmlsi=jvqLaxoidPlCeIUh
