Aussie history straight from the horses mouth. This stuff is pricesless and cant be learnt from a history book. These old timers hold a wealth of information that will soon be lost if its not recorded. Thanks David for filming this and sharing 🇦🇺

Hi David thx for the sub. Just done likewise. Just watched you A30 drive vid. If im not mistaken Thats one of my favorite places. drove that road and turned at that pub many a time.
Hello don’t spose ya can help me we have a cooper engine. Tb 37449 Is there anyway of dating her or getting any history ? Many thanks and yours is a lovely one runs spot on. Thanks again wendy from Norfolk uk
From memory looking at the engine from the front, behind the left hand flywheel, on the engine block close to the main bearing I think it has the month/year of manufacture cast on the block. Sorry I can't be of more help as I don't have that engine any more. If I can help further, contact me on 08whynot@gmail.com David
@@davidball5295 l have had one for 20 years but. Missing bits but much bigger I also got one last week that’s a small one just altering the gas supply so it runs better it’s hot tube gas Will post video when I have it running
David , get rid of that oil line from the timing case, this was an experiment that failed and was discontinued, it may also help in reducing the smoke, the CE should run a lot cleaner than yours. I am sure you will look into it. Nice Pump.
@@davidball5295 yeah I found out first hand today when i brought mine home. I only need the injector pump, which the guy I bought it off said he has, and just has to find for me
Hi David, I have a Bave-U 2 stroke twin cylinder pump. Do you have any idea where i can get replacement rubbers for the pump, or how they can be made? I can send you a photo if I can somehow get your contact details.
@@davidball5295 I can't believe it was the same one. I literally watched your video and then went to Facebook marketplace and it came up. I think Google is spying on all of us LOL. I don't think you'll have much problems selling. It looks and runs well. Cheers, Aaron.
I found mine on ebay but you have to make sure you buy the one with the triple chime lever near the number 3 on clock face. It will also have 3 weights, not key wind.
This engine has a handle built in to the flywheel which retracts when engine starts. I see you are into Victa mowers. I am just starting to get a collection of Victas from 1960 backwards. Wish me luck. I didn't know there are so many variations
+David Ball oh cool i didn't see the crank handle musnt of been looking hard enough! thanks for checking out my channel great to see more people collecting victas.
Nice engine!!! I have restored one like it a two cylinder version of 80 BHP at 450 RPM. Here you see it air starting for the first time ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xhAt_EKpb6A.html
Sorry but that engine is not a VICTOR , it is a SUNDIAL with the Sundial transfer on the hopper . VICTOR's had a Victor transfer along with Victor badging. This engine is quite often referred to as a "SUNDIAL VICTOR" as quite a few Sundials were made up from excess castings left over from the production of the Victor engines after the order was completed . Some had the rounded crank guards with the Victor flywheels as well . Sorry to be so pedantic but just wanted to be correct as there is far too much information being spread these days that is quite incorrect . Cheers David , regards Clarke .
Thanks for correcting me re the differences between 4 H.P. sundial and the Victor model. As many I believed the square back and different flywheels made it the Victor. I do appreciate any comments that enlighten me to the correct facts. Thanks again. David
More help required. I have what I thought was a sundex, but now not so sure as it is badged sunshine. Do I have a sundex or a sunshine as it looks exactly like a sundex? Can you help. Thanks David
Thanks for the comment. Many clocks do sound the same as they play the most famous tunes from the old cathedrals. What makes this a little unusual is that you can choose between three different tunes.
David, I love these old gems....... However my "better half" will not tolerate ANY timepiece that makes any noise whatsoever. Even the wonderful (soothing to me ) gentle tic toc from the escapement is taboo. Unfortunately in the country I live "timepiece incompatability" is not a legitimate reason for divorce. (I've checked) I'm doomed to suffer soulless electronic timekeeping for the rest of my life. Say a prayer for me please whenever you are enjoying this beauty Cheers Eric
Hi Eric, I can appreciate your sorrow . As I live in a house with too many clocks ticking, chiming or cuckooing, (if that is a word), I will be thinking of you and praying that your better half might one day surprize you with a ticking and chiming lovely old clock. Regards David
Hi David I was wondering if you could help me I am a young collector and have just become the care taker of an 11HP austral mag start and I am having a few problems running it main problem being the engine tends to want to run in the wrong direction any help would be much appreciated thank you regards Ross Allen Ross@becoolair.com.au
