Neil is there a composer listed for this tune? Is there a story behind the composing similar to the Haughs of Cromdale. Thanks for the tunes. Donald Grant.
Great video Neil, I really enjoyed the running dialogue explaining the tempo change and around the clock dance. I understand the tempo change once the dancer has gone around twice but does the Piper gauge the overall tempo quick or slow by the pace of the dancer or is the tempo set per grade or ranking of the dancer? Thank you.
Hi there thanks... No change in anything regarding skill level really.. The Older may dance longer, ie , more steps. But no, we set the tempo... for better or worse. If it's too fast or slow, the judge will tell us, but the initial tempo is down to us
Respected sir with due respect I would like to share you that I am really honoured to listen the way you play bagpipes .... It gives life to dead souls ..... I am big fan of yours please do reply if you get this comment of mine..... Thankyou Love from India
Hello sir, I just wanted to thank you . I’m just getting back into pipes and wanted to make sure that I correct finger posture . I’ve always been a first pad on the left-hand type of guy, someone would say second pad is best. Since I highly respect you as a piper, all I have to do is look at your left hand and know that I’m doing it just fine . Thanks for the tutorials, whoever they are for, they are sure useful to me.
It's a Practice Chanter, Mr Narrator... it's not a performance instrument. Used to practice tunes on before taking them on to the Great Highland Bagpipe
Always a pleasure to listen. Currently out and about but will listen later. Thanks for the upload. Hope everything is okay in Scotland. In Lancashire soaking up the sun with a few bevies. 🎉
My 3 X gr grandfather, George Wallace was in the 92nd Gordon Highlanders in the early period of peninsular war, led by Sir John Moore. He was Battalion Quartermaster. He returned to Scotland and was promoted to Lieutenant and did not serve again overseas, so he missed Waterloo. I enjoyed this video and the music. Just came across it looking for some of your piping lessons. Thank you.
