When you put the screw in do you switch from hammer drill to regular drill?

But what about drilling into solid concrete……I find the drilling takes a very long time even with the Milwaukee hammer drill.😢

The tapcon heads I’m using didn’t fit in the cavity without bending them. Did you have that issue? To homedepot I go again…

This video got me excited about an upcoming home project. My garage is a mix of stucco / concrete wall and drywall / studded. I'm going to start with the one wall that is entirely stucco/concrete. Do you have any concerns about me going through the stucco using your approach?

Do you think I can just mount this into the wall using the same screws? www.homedepot.com/p/Proslat-28-in-H-x-8-ft-W-x-28-in-D-ProRack-Steel-Shelf-60008/205757232#customer_reviews

It really depends on how much weight you are going to place on the rack, how well the screws anchor into the wall and how many screws you use to hold up the rack. If you have a firm anchoring into the block, and you can feel the screw tighten they can really hold an incredible amount of load, you can see we have a bike hanging from the wall, which probably weighs over 30 lbs and could have most likely held much more. If the block is hollow (not filled with grout) the anchoring may be less secure. You could always put the rack up secure it and then carefully load test it.

great video. in my case, I have a house that's a side split, so my garage is half foundation wall and top half is studs and dry wall. There is a about half and inch difference between the top (dry wall) and the bottom (concrete). what would you suggest? I thought about installing 1x4 wood studs into the concrete, but then now those studs at the bottom are not level with the dry wall, and there would be a small gap.

Thanks Ball905. If the 1x4 is too thick you could use 3/8" or 1/2" plywood cut into rips the same width as a stud depending on the difference in the depth of the two walls. Shoot us an email with a picture at info@onehoursmarthome.com and we could take a look at your specific situation. The system holds a lot off weight and really has helped with organization in a tight space on the wall. Thanks from www.onehoursmarthome.com
