I swear the amount of times Namco remastered and messed with Xevious, their remasters and remakes always had banging tracks. i always liked the moody ambient of this version of the game's tracks, and the ability to stick that infamous melody in wherever they can
About 20 years ago I found somewhere in the internet a collection of all of Zelda midi files, and among of the files there was this one (maybe labeled as "overworld3", going by memory) and "enter_sa" (which is a midi of Enter Sandman, dunno why was there) Finally after all of these years I have found this tune again!
I absolutely love how the Kings Ransom goes absolutely insane. During 10:37, you see everything individually lit as it appears on the display and damn near every light is flashing and strobing all with that sick fast beat playing 5X BONUS U-TURNS = 25000 EXTRA BALL LIT WAR = MILLION JACKPOT IS LIT SKYWAY IS LIT EVERYTHING IS LIT
Most of Shadow Warrior's OST is dark and moody, so I guess they felt this was too upbeat when they already have enough of those. But I agree, I like this track a lot. And I would have rather had an OST more in this track's (and Morse Kodo's) direction. It fits the whole bad-ass ninja, ultra-violent action and crude humor that the game is full of.
Everyone’s talking about the King’s Ransom or the Double Knights Challenge, but the 3-ball Multiball is absolutely awesome!! Especially if you have the Jackpot Maxed out! (FYI, Jackpot Maxes out at 4M points.)
