The walking the extra mile is what they did in slavery. It is also what they did to Simon to carry the cross with christ. Coukd you imagine carrying the cross with christ and look into his eyes
I am owed basic respect and so is my partner. We have to talk about what that means whenever we feel that need isn't met. Also we bang a lot, that helps
Thanks! This message was here right when I needed it. I appreciate your work. Also, looking at that picture of you as a teen... you remind me of JFK's son... so... not too shabby🙂
I’ve never met anyone who put my interest before their interest, except for my parents. Common interests and common stories are what brings us together, not giving away our personal interest for someone else’s. Have you met someone like that? Even the workers in the orphanages and hospitals are there, for their own good. For how they understand it. Because they want to be good, look good, be helpful. It’s again about them. It’s their inner need or a compensatory mechanism. This is not natural, and it puts a burden to bear, which will exhaust the careless believers.
In my professional life, I have to put my peer's interest ahead of mine. That is not to say that I don't also have to monitor my own self-care, but if I put my interest ahead of theirs in the professional setting, I won't have a professional setting any more. Ethics. And my take on what Andy was relating wasn't about how I feel, but about how I express myself.
@@tonopahbarry - " I won't have a professional setting anymore" - this is where your personal interest comes first. In your professional life you put your peer's interest ahead (maybe a managerial point of view) , in order to fullfill your own professional demand, as YOU will lose if you do otherwise. This is how it is. But then you sell yourself the story of "others first". It's more convenient and morally superior point of view, of course.
Ive been binging all your videos and rewatching some videos especially this one, cause Ive had many blessings thanks to God, and call it PTSD or whatever I face that fear that things will take a turn for the worse. And have to constantly remind myself and pray that God love for me and all his children is limitless, and every obtacles is his test in my faith to him. So thank you Pastor Andy for these video please keep them coming.

Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Paul wrote we are saved by mixing faith with the Word of God. We know Him by His Word or we don’t know Him at all.
Sometimes you just have to pretend you’re not at work. Or pretend you work somewhere else. Or even just call in sick as much as you can with a doctor’s note for stress caused by work. I find that these are some of the most easy and workable solutions when you work and you just can’t handle it. I do a lot of praying - but sometimes we have to show that we are doing our part. Most of us will never be actually happy at work - and I think that’s a good place to start. Middle and lower class income people are not usually going to have amazing times at work. We are underpaid and under appreciated. And if you can expect that - then you don’t have to chase after the elusive dream of finding happiness at work. That is saved for the few - and mainly the rich. As an old millennial- I finally had to come to this conclusion after 25 years in various jobs and eventually the occupation of teacher. And it’s okay to not like working. Humor is your biggest ally after prayer.
