It's the same guitar. The EX has a reversed headstock which could benefit you in drop tunings if you intend to play metal. Personally I use the DX variant and I've never had problems. Go for whatever you can find/pleases your eyes.
I suggest using 7-36 or 8-38 on guitars like Ibanez SA series. Tremolo system will work much better with lighter strings and not to mention, SA have HSS pickup configuration, the thinner the strings you have, the more fender strat sound you gain.
More closeups pls about technical details next time. I know pickups are cheap, and I know you play great. But I know nothing about this particular model )
hi i want to buy this guitar but i want to play the artists like ac dc kaleo franz ferdinand wolfmother artctic monkeys and cc revival. I mean, do you recommend this guitar for tracks like this? Or is it better for heavy metal?
I've had this guitar for about 2-3 weeks now and can't stop playing it. I love this guitar. Mine is the flat black/black pickguard. Black fret markers well it's all blacked out. It is so much fun to play and it sounds great while playing it. I originally got this as a home practice guitar for in between gigs. Deal is this one sounds so good it very well may end up in our live shows too. Great video!!! I'm also playing it through an Orange amp..
Just bought a used one for $100 today and I feel the same way. Way nicer fretboard than I expected, better intonation, better tone, better action. It's nice. For a starter guitar this is sweet.
@@krnewman I've been playing for over 15 years and still get a kick out of this guitar. It's been really cool playing it live now a few times...I've had a ton of comments about the guitar too...
@@suetruett3812 I almost feel offended, like a cheap guitar has no business being this good but it is. I would be happy to play this on stage professionally (if I could play guitar, that is), even though it looks like just a shredder. Jazz tones on this are quite acceptable.
@@krnewman I don't know where you got that idea as it sure was not meant to intensionally mean anything like that. I won't even call it cheap, maybe less expensive. I've also got the GIO 221 in aquaburst and it's even less expensive that the GRGR 131.
