Dude I got a new amp and have been hype to use mine in stereo, since it's my only stereo pedal. Then I remember the horrible hiss and don't even wanna bother trying to get a good stereo setup. I had abandoned trying to find a fix for the noise until I found your reddit, and the solution added to the firmware editor which I had never bothered trying to use because of the noise. I was up all night this particular night, thanks to both your posts this pedal was completely opened up and I have full confidence using it again and playing with the added effects, even if it's not fully stereo this is such great value. Great vid man

The third party effects really add a ton of value to this pedal. I was fighting the high pitched noise that can happen from impedance and power issues and was distraught that I might have to stop using this before I found that modified Para EQ. I've since solved the whine with certain pedal orders and power supplies (lots of trial and error, more luck than science I think), but it was a lifesaver. Glad I could point you in the right direction as well! I'm hopeful the community adds similar tools to the plus series eventually, but from what I've heard there's no noise or whine on the new ones.

@@scottjmeldrum The noise mod is useful but does change the tone. are the latest posts of your board solved with a new supply/order? I suspect my donner PS is the cause. and nice to know about the new ones, seem cool but not as worth it if you have the older ones
@scottjmeldrum
@scottjmeldrum 2 месяца назад
@@theresnoway440 Yeah, my In My Office videos all have it so the high pitched whine isn't there, or at least isn't noticeable to me. Some of my CDR-specific videos I have the Para EQ NM engaged to get rid of it, but not in this vid. The way I've been able to avoid it is to power the CDR with a full 500mA fully isolated. I either use a standalone 500mA wall wart I got from Monoprice, or a port on my Vitoos Iso 4 Plus. Also, I always put it in a spot in the chain where it's after a buffered pedal or where I know it will get a good signal. If it's after a pedal or pedals that are always on (like in this video), you should be good. If it's after a buffered pedal you should be good, depending on the pedal (I like to have it come after my NuX Atlantic, YMMV). I've also had success with it in the stereo inserts of my mixing board, as it is in the I.M.O. videos. For the Vitoos power supply, I think the Iso 4 Plus model is discontinued, and I haven't really verified that the outputs are isolated, as many that claim to be isolated don't actually isolate their outputs. But it has worked really well for me in terms of powering pedals without noise, and other folks online have had success with that brand as well from what I've seen. They're much more affordable than many of the bigger names, as well, if budget is a concern.

@@scottjmeldrum I have another wall PS but it’s 2A total output and has less hum but the 5.5kHz is still there. i’ll wait until i can try another power supply, it’s not that bad. zoom is after a behringer eq so which i assume is a fine buffer, but i’ve tried both that on my board and in effects loop but it’s chill
@scottjmeldrum
@scottjmeldrum 2 месяца назад
@@theresnoway440 Yeah, that sounds like it should be good, but there's definitely an aspect of luck to it. If it's a 1 spot that gives 2A, I have one of those and can try it out to see if I get the whine from it, but parts tolerances between the Power supplies and the Multistomps might make that a moot test.

Is that the M-Vave Chocolate on the floor? Curious how you are using yours. I have three (thanks for f'n up and doubling down Temu).
@scottjmeldrum
@scottjmeldrum 2 месяца назад
It is the Chocolate! I've got it hooked up to my PC with a USB-C cable. I didn't get the bluetooth connection working, and from what I've heard, the BT has a good bit of latency, which I was hoping to avoid for looping. I've got it controlling the Super 8 looper VST within Reaper. Four stereo looper tracks within Super 8, each one has one bank dedicated to it: one switch for selection, then I don't use the second switch, and then one switch for play/stop of that section, and one switch for record. On the last bank (bank down past 00) I've got start/stop play on all tracks, and kill all assigned to two switches there.

Glad it was helpful! The third party tools really open up the original Multistomps a lot. There's still more exploring to be done with the Div0 and RTFM effects as well. Some folks on Reddit have talked about using a second Div0 at the end of the chain to unlock actual full stereo sounds regardless of mono summing/true stereo/etc. I'm hoping to dig into that soon to see if I can get it to work!

Hi. In a set-up similar to yours, how can I use effects like a pitch shifter for both channels?
@scottjmeldrum
@scottjmeldrum 3 месяца назад
Unfortunately the pitch shifting effects within the multistomp all sum to mono, so while you could put one in the left channel and have it work there, you wouldn't be able to get a pitch shifter in the right channel.

How to assign which effect chain is going to which output? Just got myself this peddle and need a line split. You’ve accomplished it but I can’t seem to find a setting that lets you assign a chain to a specific output

Hey! I've got another video about creating a 'Dry Out' with the same Div0/RTFM effects. If you follow that video, but put an effect in the dry channel, you'll have a split stereo signal. There are caveats to it, though. Mainly, the effects in the 'Dry Out' side HAVE to be effects that allow for stereo, none that sum to mono. That means no compressors, drives, or mono modulation/delay/reverb patches. I can make another video in the future that goes into that in more detail if it would be helpful

Is Line Selector available in the B1 Four?
@scottjmeldrum
@scottjmeldrum 6 месяцев назад
I don't believe so, at least not yet. What I show in this video can only be done because of the third party software that someone created for the first generation of Multistomps (ZDL effects). The B1/G1 Four uses the next generation of effects (ZD2), so those third party effects can't be loaded. I'm pretty sure people have worked out the MIDI transfer protocols of the new ZD2 effects to load otherwise unsupported effects (guitar effects on the B1 Four for example), so maybe at some point custom effects can be developed similarly to these, but that's definitely a hope and not a guarantee.

Awesome video🎉 I'm trying to make my guitar sound like a warped record with crackles and everything. I have the crackles already thanks to this video. I'm thinking vibrato with this crackling sound. What else can I throw in there to get the effect?
@scottjmeldrum
@scottjmeldrum 7 месяцев назад
I would do two vibratos, one slow and shallow and one faster, playing with the depth on that one to taste. Also maybe a slow and shallow tremolo, but with its speed different than the slow vibrato. Really would give a feeling of unpredictable but subtle modulation like an old vinyl.

Is there a way to add some white/tape noise to the signal using any of the other FX parameters?

Closest thing I can think of now is adding a bit crusher, but i don't know of a way to add something like a constant tape hiss if that's what you're hoping for.

So many little gems like this to discover buried in these Zoom Multistomps. It's such a great all in one device for the size and price! My favourite is the Pre-Amp switch on the Tape Echo 3. It mimics how the original EchoPlex would 'fatten' the signal, even when it's off. In the days before EQ pedals the likes of Clapton and Page would put an Echoplex in the chain, not as a delay but just for the change in tone. The Multistomp mimics this in its Tape Echo 3 effect. With the pre amp switched on (the switch is on page 3) the Tape Echo 3 changes the tone even with the delay effect disengaged (so even though the red light is off, the tone will still be changed unless you dive into the menu and ensure the the Pre-Amp is turned off)
