It was great last year, and it was exciting going again this year to see what they had in store for us. Such a beautiful way to discover Kings Park at night.
No, you should go do it. It’s a great night out. Rig up and wear warm clothes. The cold weather or rain adds to the adventure. This was my second video posted of Lightscape this year. You should still go and film your adventure. ❤️😄
Think we spent about hour and half waking the trail. It does depend if how much you stop to take photos or enjoy the many views along the way. This video was last year’s lightscape. I think we did this in less time when we saw it this year. I posted another video of this years trail.
OMG.. Yes! an original map would have made this visit a lot easier.. wish I had thought of that before going. I would have been much easier to visualise what was left with a the Atlantis Park map.
Magnificent video Grant. Such a beautiful hidden gem of a beach. And just as impressive is how you navigated the rocks while filming at the same time. :) Your efforts are appreciated.
OMG Thank you Shiva.. Trust me when I say I wasn't sure we would make it to the beach over those rocks.. there was more then a few occasions we had to stop and work out how we could get down.. and if we got down.. would we be able to get back up! those spots I definitely couldn't film as I needed both hands and feet to make the climb.. shame I couldn't;ty capture those moments.. but it was great to be the only ones on the beach.. even on a overcast rainy day the beach was beautiful. Beautifully shot video Grant. Not exactly beach weather and we had the “will he or won’t he” find a way through to the beach. Plus “ will he or won’t he” twist an ankle in the process! So many colours within the huge rocks, quite amazing. The fight for life as the trees manage to anchor on the huge rock at the far end of the beach, blustered and blown about by the wind and sea spray. Definitely a hard climate for the trees. Is there a reason it is known as Misery Beach? Last time we were over we didn’t quite get down as far as Albany, the coastline around there is quite breathtaking. Here in uk we have typical bank holiday weather, temperatures struggling to reach double figures rain and thunderstorm warnings! At some stage I’m sure spring is going to get here act together and make an appearance, would be nice to know when! Think most of us are more than slightly disappointed by the weather at present. We are all longing for sunshine and blue skies! As always, stay safe.❤🤗
OMG Rosemary, this one was a great adventure (well we thought so when we got back from it).. there was a few times we weren't sure if we could keep going. There was more than a few spots which I couldn't't film as I needed both hands to make the climb.. and a couple of spots that we thought yeah.. we could jump down this part of the rocks.. but we were not sure if we could be able to climb back up. And a few spots were it looked easier to climb and walk if we were down lower on the rocks closer to the ocean.. but we were a little worried that is the water levels rose by the incomng tide that we might not be able to come back that way.. But it was so worth it.. definitely got the adrienlin pumping.. it was a rather cold, and drizzly day.. but the sun come out when we were on the beach.. Just amazing to be the only ones on the beach.. and the huge rocks that surrounded the beach.. just a beautiful spot.. even with very little sun, you could see the turquoise waters... Yes there is a reason such a beautiful (recently voted the best beach in Australia) is called Misery Beach. It is because it is very close too a old whaling station were the used to bring back these beautiful creatures to be killed for their meat.. the waters of the beach used to run red from the blood and it would wash up on the beach turning it red.. Hard to imagine that now when you see the crystal white sand and turquoise waters.. The waters around Albany are know for the amazing whale migrations that occur here every year.. they are amazing to see up close swimming in the ocean.. I have posted a previous video a while back when we went whale watching in Albany. Our weather is starting to turn here in Perth too.. however still much warmer than yours.. we have been averaging 25º-29º degree days, however the nights have definitely become cooler with brisk starts to the mornings.. I'm sure as our sunshine disappears, your sky's will clear and you with get some nice warm sunny days.. As always so great to hear from you and look forward t sharing some of our other adventures down Albany way with you. If you get back to Perth sometime in the future, Albany is definitely worth spending a couple of days in.. It is a stunning place surrounded by some of mother natures best. Almost as good as real poppies. There are over 40,000 hand crafted, crocheted poppies made by the volunteers from the RSL Western Australia. Just amazing to see in person.
Great video, what a beautiful building! Such classic design, the rooms are wonderful. Then all the motor vehicles, so many classics, all polished to within an inch of their lives! A wonderful feel of days long gone! We’ve had a warm weekend in our part of uk. Temperatures in the high teens! But it s all change from Monday, heavy torrential rain and gale force winds. Both of which could be damaging, and temperatures that will likely only reach the very lowest of the teens! As they say” from the sublime to the ridiculous”. There’s nothing we can do to change things so it’s just a case of enjoying the good days when we get them! ❤
Well I had't been to Government House either until a couple of years ago to check out the stunning gardens.. but this was the first time inside.. Really grand and beautiful.
